Job Title: Estimator - Civils & Rail Infrastructure
Location: London and South East
Rate: 400-500/day
Contract Length: 6-12 months
Type: Freelance / Contract
TRIbuild Solutions are working with a well-established main contractor delivering high-profile rail and civil engineering projects across the UK and the South East. We're recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join their pre-construction team on a contract basis.
This is a key support role, assisting with estimating and tendering activities across a wide range of infrastructure schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates and pricing documents
Interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to gather accurate quotations
Support commercial, engineering, and planning teams during the tender process
Carry out risk and value analysis to support pricing strategy
Ensure timely and accurate input into ongoing tenders
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Estimator in civil engineering and/or rail projects
Familiarity with tendering processes and bid submissions
Knowledge of Network Rail standards and procedures beneficial
Skilled in estimating tools such as Causeway, Candy, or equivalent
Strong commercial understanding and attention to detail
Able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Details:
Contract: 6-12 months
Rate: 400-500/day (dependent on experience)
Location: Farringdon, London (office-based, with some flexibility)

+ An opportunity to join our Rail Civil Engineering team located in one of WSP's offices located in Leeds, Manchester or London.
+ Supported progression to Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE), or further enhancement of CRE capabilities.
+ Help to grow the team through Bidding, Line Management and Business Improvement activities.

**What we would be looking for you to demonstrate.**
+ A Bachelors or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject accredited by the Engineering Council.
+ Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or nearing Chartered status.
+ Experience in delivering and managing all stages of multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initial studies through to detailed design.
+ Working knowledge of the relevant legislation and guidelines including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, British and European Standards, Eurocodes and Codes of Practice.
