What you'll be doing:

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process from job posting to offer, collaborating closely with hiring managers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver quality candidates
  • Screen applications and create shortlists of qualified candidates, while maintaining excellent candidate communications throughout to ensure a positive recruitment experience
  • Utilise and maintain the applicant tracking system (Workday) to progress recruitment activity and track key hiring metrics including time to hire, cost per hire and source of hire
  • Build and maintain talent pools for future requirements, proactively headhunting candidates through social platforms for hard-to-fill positions
  • Provide consultative advice to hiring managers on best practice interviewing techniques and assessment methods to support effective decision-making
  • Host and participate in job fairs and support continuous improvement projects within the Talent Acquisition team to enhance recruitment processes and outcomes



What we're looking for:


  • Previous recruitment experience in either agency or in-house environments, with preference for candidates who have recruited for operational, engineering or industrial roles
  • Demonstrated experience in high-volume recruitment environments with the ability to manage multiple vacancies simultaneously while maintaining quality standards
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with hiring managers and business partners
  • Proficiency in candidate sourcing and headhunting techniques across social platforms including LinkedIn, Indeed and CV Library.
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems, with Workday knowledge being advantageous
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative working skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment

What you'll be doing:

As the Talent Acquisition Advisor in our busy team, you will coordinate attraction and recruitment activity for our customers in the corporate functions including Finance, IT and Fleet.

You will support our employer brand and inclusion strategy to deliver recruitment marketing campaigns across social and traditional channels and proactively talent pool for your area.

Collaborating and partnering with hiring managers and business stakeholders, you will be taking role briefings, screening applications to create shortlists of qualified candidates and managing candidate communications to ensure a positive candidate experience.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Talent Acquisition to lead our recruitment efforts from our offices in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK , with a hybrid working arrangement. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to attract, engage, and hire top-tier talent across all levels of the organisation. You will lead a dedicated recruitment team, drive employer branding initiatives, and implement innovative sourcing strategies to build robust talent pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the full recruitment lifecycle, from workforce planning and job profiling to candidate experience and onboarding optimisation. You will leverage data analytics to measure recruitment effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and ensure diversity and inclusion are embedded within all recruitment processes. Collaboration with senior leadership and hiring managers will be essential to understand their talent needs and align recruitment strategies accordingly. This role requires a proactive, results-oriented leader with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in developing and managing recruitment budgets, utilising applicant tracking systems (ATS), and staying abreast of emerging recruitment technologies and best practices is crucial. Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a cutting-edge talent acquisition strategy.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the talent acquisition team.
  • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process for all positions.
  • Drive employer branding initiatives to attract passive candidates.
  • Build and nurture diverse talent pipelines.
  • Utilise recruitment analytics to inform strategy and measure success.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and objectives.
  • Enhance the candidate experience throughout the recruitment journey.
  • Manage recruitment budgets and optimise ATS utilisation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully building and scaling recruitment functions.
  • Expertise in sourcing methodologies, recruitment marketing, and employer branding.
  • Strong understanding of HR laws and best practices related to recruitment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with various ATS platforms.
