About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Chargehand / Supervisor to join our Home Improvement Team. This is a hands-on supervisory role overseeing and delivering component replacement works across our housing stock, including kitchens, bathrooms, boilers, rewires, roofing, doors, and windows.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong trade background, proven supervisory experience, and excellent organisational skills. The ideal applicant will be confident working independently, liaising with teams and tenants, and using Microsoft Excel for reporting and updating trackers.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support operatives to deliver high-quality home improvement works.
- Ensure all works are completed to required standards and within project deadlines.
- Liaise effectively with the Asset Management Support Team for efficient job scheduling.
- Maintain compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service in a tenant-facing environment.
- Accurately record and report progress using Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Strong trade background, ideally within social housing.
- Experience in a tenant/customer-facing role.
- Knowledge of regulations and manufacturer instructions relating to trade works.
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
- Two references (including one from your most recent employer).

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Take full responsibility for managing the projects works on a large-scale healthcare renovation project.
- Subcontractor Management: Coordinate and manage electrical subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards. Regularly monitor performance and progress.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all electrical work complies with relevant healthcare regulations, industry standards, and health & safety guidelines, maintaining a safe working environment for all on-site personnel.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the main point of contact between the client, project team, and subcontractors. Regularly update stakeholders on progress, risks, and any issues that may arise, providing solutions where necessary.
- Budget & Schedule Management: Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring that costs are managed effectively and within allocated limits. Oversee the project schedule and ensure timely delivery of works
Essential Requirements:
- Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects, with a focus on electrical installations, subcontractor coordination, and meeting tight deadlines in a live environment.
