Performs logistical tasks (receiving & shipping), troubleshooting, repairs (mechanical or electrical in nature), testing, and cleaning of customer returned products. Directly supports operational improvement activities and the implementation of cost reduction ideas. .
Responsibilities:
+ Performs basic tasks associated with servicing customer product. This includes receiving/shipping, reviewing customer complaints, basic troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, inspection, basic and soldering, cleaning, testing, and final inspections
+ Learns and develops familiarity with a smaller subset of products and processes
+ Records work performed in the form of symptom codes and parts replacement reasons
+ Provides input geared toward continuous improvement activities
+ Learns and develops familiarity with various software tools
+ Delivers work that falls withing acceptable error rate limits. Provides input geared toward improving existing work instruction documentation and the standardization of processes. Complies with all ESD practices. Understands basic ISO requirements
+ Complies with all required safety practices and use of PPE
+ Understands and complies with all aspects of the 5S program
+ Learns and follows the basic calibration and maintenance requirements of the tools/equipment used in the operations
Qualifications:
+ Learns policies and procedures and how to apply them to issues experienced in routine activities
+ Learns and closely follows established processes and directions

Responsibilities:
+ Posses full product knowledge within a subset of a product family and associated processes.
+ Competently performs logical and methodical troubleshooting quickly and accurately with demonstrated ability to perform analytical testing and other test experiments to identify root cause of failures.
+ Orders parts necessary for repairs, reviews kanban stocking levels and makes recommendations for adjusting order quantity amounts.
+ Ability to research and collect specifications on mechanical or electronic components and evaluate compliance of components to specifications.
+ Supports NPI (New Products Engineering) with design for serviceability practices on new products.
+ Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts (i.e. types of waste, cycle and takt time, andon, kanban, kaizen, FIFO, JIT, poka yoke, line balancing, etc.)
+ Performs work method analysis and develops best practices for a variety of operations along with setting standard work times.
+ Learns and develops ability to analyze data from reports to make business decisions related to work force utilization (i.e. line balancing, OT, etc.)
+ Full knowledge and understanding of the cost components of the operation.
+ Designs and builds fixtures to assist with improving the efficiency and accuracy of the repair process.
+ Ability to develop accurate and detailed work method documentation.
+ Regularly attends Quality Circle Meetings or other meetings to discuss and present repair analytics.
+ Analyzes data and trends associated to repeat repairs with ability to implement corrective actions.
+ Thorough understanding of the top common failure modes of products in areas of expertise.
+ Learns and develops familiarity with the concepts of basic statistics (i.e. normal distribution, variance, and basic SPC) and can apply them to business needs.
+ Ensures that the test equipment, devices under test, and the testing environment are correctly maintained such that test results are not compromised with full understanding of maintenance and calibration programs.
+ Demonstrates innovative and creative ideas in managing safety in the workplace.
+ Leads by example in terms of safe working behaviors, 5S, and in emergency situations (i.e. fire alarm evacuations).
+ Learns and develops knowledge of industry standards for operational safety topics (i.e. handling hazardous materials and chemicals).
+ Develops and implements corrective actions in response to safety and 5S audit findings.
+ Understands the goals, objectives, and priorities of other areas of the department and supports to align resources to those priorities.
+ Develops training content and or courses and delivers training to other associates.
+ Assists repair leaders with daily work load management, employee communications, and other leadership aspects of the operation.
+ Works on a full range of problems of moderate scope that require selection and/or modification of existing procedures and processes.
+ Receives Intermittent Supervision on day-to-day work and General Supervision on new assignments.

- Commissioning and fault finding on electro-mechanical and/or hydro-mechanical systems.
- Work at heights.
- A technical electrical/ hydraulic qualification, apprentice trained, HNC,HND, degree or equivalent would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving license.
