Your new role
The Reporting Lead is responsible for leading the MI reporting function, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely, and insightful analytics and business intelligence solutions. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting strategic decision-making through data, managing a suite of over 100 reports, and driving the transition to modern BI technologies in alignment with the Data Strategy roadmap.
- Design and develop dashboards, reports, and interactive visualisations using Power BI and Cognos.
- Ensure end-to-end BI workflow is followed: from data sourcing and modelling to insight delivery.
- Build and maintain a reusable report library aligned with business needs.
- Lead the development of regulatory reports and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and reporting solutions.
- Conduct detailed data analysis and support self-service reporting capabilities.
- Line management of the MI Reporting Analyst and oversight of MI/data apprentices.
- Provide training, mentoring, and quality assurance for all MI reporting deliverables.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Communicate progress, risks, and issues effectively at the Executive level.
- Collaborating with Data Governance and Quality leads to align with the broader Data Strategy.

- Proven experience in leading MI or BI reporting teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Deep understanding of data strategy, data governance, and analytics best practices.
- Proficiency in BI tools and languages:
Power BI, Cognos, SQL, Python. - Experience with regulatory reporting and operational reporting processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Excellent knowledge of financial and management reporting essential
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to develop complex financial reports
- Excellent MS Office experience necessary (VLOOKUPS, SUMIF, Pivot Tables) with an excellent standard of formatting
- A great working knowledge of financial systems and Power BI

We're looking for a Reporting Lead to drive the reporting strategy for a key transformation programme, replacing legacy customer and property data systems with Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Fabric . This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll shape, deliver and embed a future-proof reporting landscape.
About the Role:
- Lead the design and delivery of the reporting strategy, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and future data architecture
- Own and evolve the Enterprise Data Platform to meet new reporting needs
- Develop and manage a pipeline of reporting requirements across the programme
- Collaborate with business teams, execs, and tech leads to ensure reporting is integral—not an afterthought
- Build and communicate a clear, deliverable reporting roadmap with visible progress and impact
- Partner with the Head of Data and Reporting to align with BAU and enterprise reporting goals
- Proven experience leading reporting/BI workstreams in large transformation programmes
- Strong stakeholder engagement and roadmap delivery experience
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Power BI (DAX, data modelling, visual best practice)
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric (early-stage or implementation exposure ideal)
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365:
- Customer Engagement (esp. iProperty Cloud)
- Finance & Operations
- Understanding of data flows between Dynamics, Azure, and reporting platforms
- Experience with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse Analytics)
- Confident facilitator of workshops and capable of translating complex needs into clear plans
- Excellent communicator who can bridge technical and business perspectives
- Experience in housing or public sector
- Knowledge of ActiveH or similar housing systems
- Understanding of data governance and reporting implications
- Exposure to AWS in hybrid cloud environments
- Agile delivery experience in cross-functional data teams
