The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of year-end statutory financial statements in line with IFRS and other relevant regulations.
• Act as the main point of contact for the external audit process , managing timelines and deliverables.
• Oversee group consolidation , including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency considerations.
• Deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts , providing insightful commentary and analysis.
• Produce detailed cost of sales and margin analysis , supporting operational teams in driving performance improvements.
• Collaborate with external advisors on tax and regulatory compliance , including R&D tax credits.
• Support finance transformation projects, such as an upcoming ERP implementation

About You

We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented finance professional with strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills.

Key requirements:

• Fully ACA or ACCA qualified, ideally coming from an audit background.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation principles.
• Experience of statutory reporting and audit leadership within a group environment.
• Proven track record of working with complex cost of sales and margin reporting.
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and present to senior stakeholders.

Being responsible for a team of approximately 10, you will be responsible for the day to day management of a functioning finance department, in effect being the finance manager in deputy to the finance director.

The Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to lead the financial reporting, operational finance and transactional team in delivering a first in class service to both internal clients as well as external parties. Your primary objective is to stabilise, motivate and enthuse your team. On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Management of a team of approximately 10 finance professionals, delegating tasks, motivating and mentoring.
Review of financial accounts ensuring statutory obligations are satisfied.
Review and oversite of banking transactions to ensure controls are managed and maintained.
Ownership and control of banking transactions including the authorisation of banking permissions.
VAT return oversite.
Process improvement and staff development.

The Requirements
We would love to see applications from fully qualified accountants, however the ability to motivate and mentor junior staff members is more important than a formal qualification. The team are needing support and development so strong team management skills are essential, as are technical accounting competencies. The role will ideally evolve into more of an account management role so a high degree of client interaction will be needed. • Identify and help drive process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of reporting activities

Person Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Group Finance team of a large and/or multinational group
