The Team

Our team works on a variety of projects, including developing sophisticated financial risk methodologies and models, with a strong focus on ALM (IRRBB, Liquidity and Capital Risk) and Pillar 1 financial risk components (credit and market risk). This is an opportunity to work on impactful projects that enhance risk-adjusted financial performance and inform strategic decision-making at the highest levels.
How You Will Contribute
As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in helping senior financial institution leaders translate business strategies and regulatory changes into quantifiable financial impacts. You will support the development and execution of sophisticated financial risk methodologies and models. Your work will span across client-facing delivery, analytical modelling, and shaping recommendations that enhance risk-adjusted financial performance, meet prudential requirements, and inform strategic decision-making at the highest levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with banks and NBFIs to model the impact of strategic initiatives on key financial risk metrics and capital/liquidity positions.
- Develop and implement quantitative models to assess ALM profile and risk, such as IRRBB, liquidity, and capital risks, and Pillar 1 credit and market risk under CRR standards.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of balance sheet strategy initiatives, including capital and liquidity optimization, stress testing, and ICAAP/ILAAP scenario modelling.
- Assess client compliance with evolving regulatory requirements (e.g., CRD VI/CRR III, PRA/ECB supervisory statements).
- Present findings and recommendations to clients in a compelling and structured way.
- Support business development through preparation of thought leadership, proposals, and client pitches.
Qualifications
- Experience in financial services or consulting with demonstrable exposure to quantitative financial risk.
- Strong understanding of at least two of the following areas: Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB), Liquidity risk (LCR, NSFR, CFP), Pillar 1 credit and market risk modelling.
- Proven ability to build or review quantitative models (Excel, Python, R or similar).
- Understanding of balance sheet structure, funding models, and regulatory capital/liquidity rules (Basel III, CRD/CRR, PRA Rulebook).
- Highly analytical with a commercial mindset and excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills – ability to translate complex analysis into practical recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Experience working with or advising CFO, Treasury, Risk or ALM functions preferred.
Education & Qualifications
- Strong academic background in a quantitative or finance-related discipline (e.g., Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering).
- Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, PRMIA, or progress toward these is a plus.

We are currently recruiting for a FireRisk Assessment Trainer. You will be delivering fire risk assessment training programmes delivered both in person and online. All programmes are designed so you will be responsible for all delivery and post training assessing.
This is a full time opportunity and will require travel across the UK. Training programmes typically run for 4-5 days,therefore you will need to be flexible with Sunday travel and overnight stays - all of which you will be reimbursed for, where they are not delivered online.

The objective of the ICS Control Management Risk ID, Assessment, Testing and Reporting team is to identify, assess, mitigate, and report on Operational Risk within BU processes for ICS to ensure adherence to regulatory standards, Amex policy and enhance the BU's resilience through managing a clear methodology of inherent and residual risk.
**How will you make an impact in this role?**
ICS Control Management is looking for an Analyst of Risk ID, Assessment, Testing & Reporting focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.
The Analyst, ICS Control Management Risk ID, Assessment, Testing & Reporting will:
+ Assist in additional identification specific risks throughout business processes and systems (along with business process owners)
+ Support facilitation to BUs in their risk assessments performance (e.g., Process Self Risk Assessments (PRSAs)) in addition to further assessments and testing / QA programs to ensure regulatory and internal standards are met (e.g., periodic PRSA reviews and update assessment criteria to align with regulatory updates)
+ Support control monitoring (supplemental to BU process owners testing) and compile key operational risk trends, activities, and events
+ Proactively help identify certain areas of high-risk for intervention (e.g., automated alerts generated for high-risk areas signal need for intervention and focus), including conducting independent quality assurance and vertical process testing
+ Support thematic risk reporting (levels, trends, causes)
+ Categorize controls and map against risks and processes (e.g., cross-BU process-control mapping)
+ Support BU with identification of risks and spotting areas where product changes or improved controls may be required within New Product Governance (NPG)
+ Support risk management practices within the business
+ Maintain risk dashboards and key risk indicators (KRIs) for ongoing monitoring
+ Maintain risk profiles and an updated risk register(s)
+ Support sharing insights, better practices, themes, etc. across the enterprise
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ 1-2 Years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities
+ Understanding of RCSA preferable
+ Project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
+ Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards
+ Analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
**Preferred Qualifications** **:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous
+ Experience in at least one of the following:
+ Supporting identification of operational risks throughout business processes and systems
+ Facilitating risk assessment performance in addition to further assessments and testing programs to ensure regulatory and internal standards are met
+ Supporting independent control monitoring, including identification of control improvements
+ Supporting the identification of areas of risk for intervention, including conducting independent quality assurance and process testing
+ Compiling thematic risk reporting to provide actionable insights on risk levels, emerging trends and root causes
