Job Overview
As our Senior Government Affairs Manager you'll have a deep understanding of the NHS and medical landscape, pharmaceutical business operations, market access opportunities and challenges and policies which shape a framework around life science products. You are able to demonstrate a strategic approach to shape and execute multi-stakeholder Government Affairs (GA) strategies in full alignment with AbbVie brand and corporate objectives with a focus on positively shaping the environment to support patient access to medicines and building AbbVie's external profile with relevant stakeholders while delivering our business priorities.
Working with both internal and external stakeholders you will have excellent communications skills and a proven ability to influence from a 'patient first' perspective, together with a track record of developing innovative and inventive approaches to shape external policy and engage stakeholders.

Qualifications
Experience
+ Direct experience of working in a parliamentary, political, advocacy or legislative role, preferably from a previous healthcare or life sciences focused role, although others will be considered
+ Demonstrated success in the influencing of legislation and policy
+ In-depth knowledge of the UK health care system, including the National Health Service, Department of Health and Social Care, Business and Trade, and OLS
+ Demonstrated experience in building relationships with health care policy makers politicians, patient stakeholders and other influencers.

+ Strong understanding of Government, Whitehall, healthcare and the NHS
+ Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) to develop and convey strategies, policies, and action plans succinctly
