Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and optimisation of chemical processes for new and existing products.
- Conduct process simulations, feasibility studies, and pilot plant trials to validate designs and troubleshoot issues.
- Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) with high accuracy.
- Ensure all process designs comply with stringent safety regulations (e.g., HAZOP studies) and environmental standards.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, operations, and safety teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Oversee process commissioning and start-up activities, providing expert technical support.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimise waste.
- Mentor and guide junior process engineers, fostering their technical and professional development.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in chemical engineering technologies, materials, and methodologies.
- Manage process-related aspects of capital projects, from conceptualisation to completion.
- MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing sector.
- Proven expertise in process design, simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS), and P&ID development.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mass/heat transfer.
- Strong understanding of process safety principles and experience conducting HAZOP studies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment on-site.
- Experience with scale-up challenges and optimisation of industrial chemical processes.
