We have an exciting new opportunity for a SHEQ Compliance Lead to join our Mells manufacturing site.
What's the mission?
Reporting to our Site Operations Manager, you will lead SHEQ Compliance (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) at Mells, in relation to the Management systems. You'll work closely with site teams and support functions to ensure adherence to both internal standards and external regulations.
Your key responsibilities will include monitoring SHEQ compliance, policies, procedures, and management systems, and providing updates during monthly management meetings. You will also contribute to environmental planning, manage external contractors, assist with SHEQ investigations, and proactively drive site improvements in all SHEQ areas. You will be responsible for leading an engaged safety culture on site as well as managing and reporting on role aligned financial budgets (Occupational Health, Environmental, Waste & Training).
What are the mission-critical skills?
- Certificate level training (NEBOSH General Certificate or IEMA Environmental Management etc) as a minimum.
- Experience operating within a medium/large manufacturing or quarrying environment.
- Applied knowledge of current Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Experience dealing with internal and external audits and corrective action management.
- Experience with compliance management systems and process control.
- Experience managing supplier non-conformances.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in responding to adverse events using problem solving tools (i.e root cause analysis) is advantageous.
