Job Description

NBCUniversal is looking for a Production & Event Security Manager to join our Global Security Team in London. In this role, you’ll assist in providing security oversight and logistical support for all NBCU Productions (Feature Film, Cable, Television, Streaming & Live Theatrical Events) during the planning and execution phases of all global operations.

This role reports to the VP, Production & Event Security and will work closely with all NBCUniversal production and event teams to ensure the necessary resources, policies, and processes are in place to protect the company’s employees, physical property, intellectual property, and operations. This role will also support corporate needs by nurturing close partnerships with many internal executive leaders and external vendors. This position will be based out of the offices in London and support NBCU productions and events across Europe, The Middle East & Africa.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work directly with NBCU Production business units in the planning and execution phase of all remote filming including: risk assessments, security plans, securing appropriate vendors, travelling to remotes when required, and conducting after-action reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for efficiency.
  • Provide security consulting services with Production Executives, Producers, Unit Production Managers, and staff to evaluate script concepts and locations for safety and security concerns and risks.
  • Quickly recognise and resolve various production security issues that arise during the course of production activities.
  • Respond in a timely manner to the various business units regarding all security emergencies and incidents, with accurate documentation, while following all NBCU security processes and procedures.
  • Develop partnerships with relevant cross-functional executive leaders throughout the company for increased business knowledge and proactive security prevention.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with local law enforcement and emergency response government agencies.
  • Liaise with local law enforcement, government agencies and investigators for all security emergencies and incidents in support of NBCU’s global productions.
  • Provide security services and oversight to our Special Events team for premieres, award shows, press junkets, press tours, or activations at significant events.
  • Work closely with the Global Security organisation to identify synergies in vendor relationships, opportunities to partner with other Global Security team members,ensure use of updated policies and procedures, and develop a regular communication rhythm with the Global Response & Intelligence Center team.
  • Provide assistance, guidance, consultation and coordination to other NBCUniversal departments including Human Resources, Legal, Investigations, etc when appropriate.
  • This position will support productions & special events related to our film, television, streaming and live theatrical business units.

  • International travel is required

Requirements:

  • Chartered or working toward Chartered status
  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Relevant Engineering experience and high technical capability for core Instrument Engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years' experience in Functional Safety activities
  • TUV FS Engineer certificate (or equivalent preferred)

To support this focus area, Amazon is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join the Safety Engineering team supporting International Operations.



Key job responsibilities

The individual will play a critical role to ensure high standards of safety are built into systems and processes across new and legacy Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers and Delivery Stations outside of North America. The successful candidate will validate vendor proposed technical safety solutions and work in partnership with internal engineering and reliability maintenance teams to ensure right first time, legally compliant safety standards for equipment. The role will be filled by an experienced Safety-Risk Manager with detailed technical knowledge of EU machinery safety regulations and best practice engineering and procedural controls to reduce risk to operators and maintainers. . Knowledge of robotics and automated conveyor systems will also be essential to support the procurement and implementation of systems across the network. Emphasis will be on technical knowledge and the ability to engage with cross functional teams, transforming this knowledge into sound, compliant processes.

Responsibilities: You will be supporting a wide range of projects being heavily involved in the Capital Approval Review process, including liaison with other critical support functions such as Engineering, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and New Build/Real Estate teams in order to effectively deliver the required right first-time machinery and systems safety standards. This is an important central safety role and will report directly to the Sr. Manager High Risk Operations (within WHS International Operations)

The extent of your duties will include:

- Define new and update existing technical standards for machinery safety and process controls, working closely with EU and North American internal experts.

- Provide functional working links with other critical functional teams including; Engineering, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering, Procurement, Operations, New Build Safety and Real Estate teams.

- Support capital procurement processes as well as building design, specification and launch processes to ensure u2018right first timeu2019 safety outcomes.

- Support the delivery of central Health and Safety pro-active objectives.

- Provide expert input to change projects, build outs and development projects and act as a technical machinery expert for the EU Health and Safety team.

- Generate regular technical updates for the Safety Engineering team.

- Provide monthly reports on upcoming projects and current in process schemes with clear analytical measures of status and risk.

- Support business change through effective influencing of change management processes within international operations.

- Support Amazon facilities by performing machinery inspections (including suitable and sufficient risk assessments) of all relevant new machinery and legacy equipment, mentoring and developing other team members whilst doing so.

- Support the development of solutions that meet Amazon high standards for safety, risk reduction, customer satisfaction, efficiency, scalable, simplicity, and operational excellence.

- Instruct and train company personnel on safety policies, assisting the teams in incorporating our safety standards at their respective sites.

-Look for industry innovation for new, safer machinery and risk reduction measures as well as inspection techniques, tools and opportunities for improving performance and reducing impact to stakeholders in terms of time and cost.

- Provide awareness and targeted training on machinery safety / engineering risk reduction to stakeholders to influence strategic decision making as well as day-to-day operational decisions.

Basic Qualifications

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

- A Bachelor degree or equivalent level of qualification in line with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)

- Extensive experience of Safety Engineering risk management, mainly focused on managing or inspecting machinery safety to EU standards and directives

Preferred Qualifications

- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

- Master's degree or equivalent

- CMSE u2013 Certified Machinery Expert

- FS Engineer u2013 Functional Safety Engineer (IEC 61508 etc).
