ResponsibilitiesnThe Role: Our Life Safety and Security engineering team is at the heart of our business. Multi-skilled across multiple technologies and product ranges, our engineers possess a wide range of knowledge built up over many years. Customer service oriented and driven to deliver the very best levels of engineering, our engineers take pride in their daily work.

This role will report to the Southern Regional Manager and include a programme of mentored training and development to assist the individual as required, but also with a view to future progression and succession planning.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Install, Commission and Servicing of our wide range of field equipment including, CCTV, Access Control, IoT gateways & sensors, Fire and Intruder Alarms systems, Public address & Voice Alarm systems.

Retrofit upgrades / extensions to existing systems as part of remedial works packages.

Provide high levels of customer services.

Understanding site plans, to allow installs to take part based on site survey documentation.

Complete documentation in line with company standards.

Work within strict H&S guidelines.

Advise customers on the latest products and services to improve efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

Ensure assigned work is effectively delivered, completed on time, and to the required quality standards.

Ensure all works are recorded using business systems and each job is signed off by the client.

Ensure site Health and Safety compliance and escalate any immediate issues to line management.

Provide high levels of customer service and ensure the company is always represented professionally.

Qualifications

Valid CSCS/ECS Card

PTS certification

DBS clearance (for working in public sector environments)

IPAF/ PASMA/ Asbestos Awareness certification

Recent/current electrical qualifications

Full UK driving licence.

Experience

Must be able to work independently, including lone working, and as part of a team.

Flexible and self-motivated

Knowledge of industry standard manufacturers preferred (Bosch, Dahau, Genetec, Gent, Advanced, Gallagher, PAC, Win-Pak, Veracity, Milestone).

Previous employment within a BAFE/ SSAIB/ NSI accredited company.

Experience working within the Rail sector would be an advantage.

**Location:** EMEA Regional Headquarters, Watford. Our placements are office based with flexibility offered across some teams.
**What are we looking for?**
+ A strong sense of alignment to our culture and values.
+ A current Bachelor's or Master's student with a required 12-month year in industry placement as part of your degree.
+ A Social, Political, Policy Sciences, Criminology & Security Studies, Security with Intelligence Analysis, Risk & Security Management, Safety & Risk Management, Food Safety Management, Health, Safety & Fire Safety Management or related degree is preferred.
+ Availability to start 13th of July 2026, full-time, for a 12-month placement.
+ Eligibility to work in the UK. If you are a non-UK national, without EU Settled or Pre-Settled Status then you will need to be studying at a UK university to be eligible to undertake a placement here.
+ Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
+ Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Ability to identify potential threats and propose solutions.
+ Data Analysis: Comfortable working with incident reports, accident statistics, and insurance claims to spot trends and vulnerabilities.
+ Knowledge of Safety Standards: Familiarity with regulations like ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety), HACCP (Food Safety), and fire safety codes.
+ Security Principles: Understanding of physical and digital security protocols, access control, and surveillance systems.
+ Incident Reporting Tools: Experience with platforms like Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or safety management systems.

Our consultants work on some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile programmes, providing the structure, insight, and governance needed for successful delivery.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Safety and Security Specialist  to support our largest Defence portfolio to provide support in developing and implementing safety and security strategies, ensuring compliance with requirements, strengthening governance and embedding best practice across health, safety and security functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of portfolio-wide safety and security strategies in line with organisational requirements.
  • Review, improve, and standardise Health & Safety policies, processes, and performance monitoring frameworks.
  • Deliver training programmes, safety-first initiatives, and behavioural change campaigns to embed a strong safety culture.
  • Establish consistent site safety audit procedures, driving compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Design and implement the Security Strategy covering personnel, physical, IT, and document security.
  • Act as key liaison with the Security Team and Digital Team, streamlining processes and strengthening governance.
  • Develop enclaving strategies for construction sites, including access control, material handling, and security resourcing.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in Safety and Security within Defence, Government, or other complex programmes.
  • Navy experience is desirable
  • Must hold active SC Clearance and be a UK Sole National

Contract Details

  • Duration: 12 months
  • Location: Remote with travel to Clyde for site based engagement with stakeholders
  • Start Date: October 2025
