About the Role
We are seeking a Health and Safety Standards and Compliance Advisor to join our Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) team. This newly developed role is designed to support the planning, management, and monitoring of our HSW strategy through the delivery of standards, our health and safety management system, and digital assurance tools.
You’ll work closely with CDM stakeholders, the HSW team, and Construction Site Delivery Leads to ensure all legislative, company, and site-specific safety requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Leader with day-to-day duties.
- Support the integration of the SZC Site Delivery H&S Management System into the IMS.
- Create and maintain H&S documentation aligned with SZC Standards.
- Contribute to the development of SZC Visual Standards (Blue Books).
- Influence the H&S Construction Site Delivery and Strategic Integrated Assurance Plan.
- Ensure health and safety considerations are embedded in project construction stages.
- Investigate incidents and recommend preventative actions.
- Review HSW and contractor documentation for adequacy and compliance.
- Coordinate health and safety initiatives and promote a positive safety culture.
- Deliver assurance activities and support project teams with H&S awareness.

Amentum are currently recruiting an Industrial Safety Engineer who will be part of a team of safety and compliance professionals reporting to the CommOps Health, Safety and Wellbeing Lead providing health and safety advice and guidance across the CommOps organisation. Key responsibilities will be:
- Ensuring adherence and compliance with all applicable statutory health and safety legislative requirements, identifying non-compliances and providing guidance on matters relating to identified non-compliances.
- Working collaboratively with all departments to support the development and monitoring of the safety arrangements for management of work for CommOps during construction, through commissioning and into operations.

- Qualified to a minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Level 3 qualification), with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience.
