Your new role
The school is looking for a new business manager from September 2025, to start as soon as possible.
Working full-time, term time, you will support SLT by:
- Running the school's financial, administrative, personnel, premises, health & safety, business, and support services in a smooth and efficient manner.
- Providing regular updates on key financial issues and planning; administration, premises, business, and support services.
- Supporting the head teacher in identifying priorities related to strategic planning and contributing solutions in line with the ethos of the school's Development Plans.
- Managing the admin and supporting personnel, Site Manager and Catering Staff.
- Implementing an effective marketing plan for the school.
What you'll need to succeed
For this role, prior experience of working as a school business manager, and/ or relevant qualifications would be desirable.The successful candidate will be able to:
- Work flexibly and collaboratively to meet the changing demands and priorities
- Ensure safeguarding and promote the safety and welfare of all staff and pupils
- Effectively communicate using both written and oral communication methods
- Work in a team or on your own initiative
- Be self-organised and able to prioritise and manage conflicting demands to meet deadlines.

Governance Support
- Ensure effective clerking and administrative support for the Governing Body and its committees
Facilities & Operations

- Manage contracts for catering, cleaning, grounds maintenance, and other services
- Lead on energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
- Ensure the school remains operational during adverse weather
Health & Safety
- Act as the Fire Safety Lead and oversee the Health & Safety Policy
- Provide training and guidance to staff on H&S responsibilities
- Implement internal audits and accident reporting procedures
- Ensure compliance across all extended services
Risk Management
- Develop and maintain systems to identify, assess, and mitigate risks
- Secure external advice where necessary to support compliance and best practice

- Proven experience in school business leadership or a similar role
