We are working in partnership with an award winning and highly specialised expert in their field, who provide products, services and consultancy to clients in the medical, pharmaceutical, clinical, scientific sectors and more. Established in 1997, they are globally recognised for their unique subject matter expertise and are currently expanding. They are seeking a sharp, articulate and science-savvy Business Development Executive to join our high-performing sales team.
The role is predominantly outbound sales, targeting high-tech and pharmaceutical clients ranging from Formula 1 teams to the European Space Agency. You’ll be selling precision packaging solutions that ensure the stability and accuracy of pharmaceutical and diagnostic products. This is a niche role in a niche industry — a perfect fit for someone who thrives on intellectual challenge and can confidently engage with PhDs and engineers alike. In this exciting role, you will work alongside 5 other salespeople, reporting to the Commercial Director, in an intelligent and supportive environment, where staff retention is a priority. The role is office based to enable adequate training and development.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead outbound sales efforts (approx. 95%) to prospect, qualify, and close opportunities across the pharma, aerospace, and polymer sectors. li>Engage confidently and knowledgeably with scientific and technical stakeholders (many PhD-level clients).
- Create and deliver persuasive sales presentations and copy — both written and spoken. < i>Source leads using AI tools, industry databases, and associations.
- Handle sales conversations adeptly, especially the critical first 20–30 seconds on a cold call. < i>Undertake continuous professional development including NLP, sales grammar, and technical product training.
The successful candidate will hold a 2:1 or First-class degree in a science-related discipline (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Marine Biology, etc.), as well as 2–5 years’ experience in a commercial role (B2B sales, preferably technical/scientific). They will hold the ability to confidently and clearly communicate technical concepts, therefore, excellent written English with the capability to write compelling, accurate copy is a must. High intellectual agility is needed, and they must be able to handle challenging conversations with scientists and engineers as well as high energy, competitive, and results-driven mindset – a “hunter” rather than a “farmer”.

Description
Provide daily administrative support to the Product Development team.
Coordinate the full sample process: request, delivery tracking, photographing, assign PD codes, label and dispatch to customers for approval to ensure timelines are met.
Liaise with overseas mills to obtain costs, packaging specifications, documentation, and technical details, while evaluating product costings and performing cross-cost analyses.
Ensure all product documentation and specifications are complete, well-organised, and up to date.
Maintain and prepare the showroom for customer meetings.
Support the team during customer visits and product meetings.
Maintain and organise the product sample library, ensuring samples are properly stored, labelled, and filed for easy access and reference.
Assist in creating PowerPoint presentations for customer product selections and preparing supporting content for client communication.
Collaborate cross-functionally with the Design and the Product team to maintain workflow efficiency.
Conduct market and competitor research to help inform product development.
Profile
A successful Product Development Coordinator should have:

Working onsite, and with experience gained in a similar role, the successful candidate will be creative, motivated and dynamic. Working as part of an established and highly professional team within a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for developing suitable technical solutions from initial brief, through product design specification, design and development, test and validation with the focus on suitable and sustainable manufacturing.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Producing new and creative product/material/application ideas, approaches, insights, and designs, which profitable, innovative, and anticipate customer needs
- Preparing and reviewing FMEA and PPAP plans to ensure the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP2) requirements are met and timelines are achieved
- Conducting feasibility studies with appropriate tools e.g. FEA and recommending design or material improvements
- Selecting appropriate manufacturing methods for new products/materials to ensure the start of series production (SOP) meeting both customer and company objectives; provides in-life technical support and management of any product reliability and quality queries.
- Using analysis to identify and implement engineering methodologies that meet design intent and product performance expectations
- Inputting and analysing numerical data. identifying patterns and relationships to identify and implement engineering methodologies that meet design intent and product performance expectations
- Due to the nature of the business and here will be a need to travel overseas on occasion as per the needs of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Preferably BEng qualified within mechanical engineering, OR Industrial design / Materials Science (with hands on product development / design experience.
- Product design experience (Product design involving plastic/rubber/composites and compression, injection or injection transfer moulding experience would be advantageous)
- Experience of working in cross-discipline teams
- Experience of working within a high-volume manufacturing environment, ideally automotive
- Advantageous to be experienced in prototype/product testing and benchmarking, project and budgetary management, IP, contract review, product liability/warranty processes, and VA/VE, Lean, and Kaizen tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to persuade, influence and, when appropriate, challenge with tact and diplomacy

Salary 44,000 to 49,000PA + Competitive Benefits inc. Generous paid holidays, and Flexible working. Dayshift / Site Based with some flexible working around daily core hours.
