Senior Global Talent Partner I BOLDSCIENCEA BOLDSCIENCE Senior Scientific Director has a proven ability to lead high performing teams and plays a crucial role within the Scientific Services leadership team. They are a scientific expert and have expertise across a wide range of therapeutic areas, but are always eager to build their knowledge and into new unknown areas. They have a proven ability to forge relationships with clients and demonstrate a high-level scientific, editorial and strategic counsel to our clients. A Senior Scientific Director also has a wide range of operational responsibilities including; training and mentoring the team, financial management, recruitment and resourcing.
As well as this, they will play an active role developing and leading scientific strategy for new business. They are well known across BOLDSCIENCE and are regularly called upon for their expertise and guidance.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
At BOLDSCIENCE no two days are the same and our Senior Scientific Director plays an active role leading the Scientific Services team to success. Some typical activities include:
- Manages a wide range of complex projects and demonstrates in depth knowledge across a variety of therapeutic areas
- The Scientific Lead on designated account(s), overseeing the delivery of a range of high-quality medical communication materials including; Slide decks, Digital materials, Publications, Abstracts and posters and Meeting summaries
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients and relevant medical experts
- Providing high-level scientific, editorial and strategic counsel to clients
- Confidently leads scientific discussions in client meetings and engaging external experts in scientific and medical discussions
- Lead the facilitation of client workshops and though leadership discussions with HCPs
- Communicates and delegates briefs effectively, ensuring that the team deliverables are in line with the client’s strategic goals and objectives
- Ensuring maintenance of high editorial standards through review of the scientific team content development
- Working in partnership with the Client Services Lead to ensure client expectations are achieved and smooth project execution. This may include; strategic planning, timeline creation, account management and resource planning
Scientific Knowledge:
- Developing and maintaining expert knowledge in specific therapy areas
- Keep updated on new developments and activities within the Med Comms environment
- Provide regular communication on product updates, medical/ regulatory milestones, competitor landscape and the wider healthcare industry
- Forward thinking approach, constantly looking ahead to provide clients with fresh thinking and ideas
New Business:
- Identify opportunities for new business within existing accounts and supporting new business initiatives
- Provide direction and guidance on identified organic growth opportunities
- Leads and develops strategic and scientific aspects of new business proposal documents and pitch strategy
- Ensure accurate research and relevant tactics specific to the proposal
- Bring in relevant business units and individuals across BOLDSCIENCE
- Leading and managing the scientific services team to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
- Working with the Client Services lead on financial management including forecasting, budgets and resourcing to ensure all financials are accurate
- Consistently meet billability targets and ensure the same from line reports and wider team members
- Complete timesheets accurately on time and ensures the same from line reports and wider team members
- Providing your account team and wider Scientific Services team with operational and scientific leadership
- Being responsible for the recruitment, training and development of members of the scientific services team
- Manages and inputs into the career development of direct reports closely reviewing goals and objectives
- Line manages team members of varying levels, providing constructive and actionable feedback
- Provide regular coaching, mentoring and feedback to the team to drive career development
- Proactively manage the Scientific Services team and individual performance including training and development of junior writers
- Forms excellent senior level relationships and is a trusted partner to the Business Unit Founder. Founder receives ongoing communication and is aware of key account activity
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Several years' experience within the medical communications industry
- Experience of leading high-performing teams and proven leadership and influencing skills
- Exceptional scientific writing skills with extensive experience writing across different therapeutic areas and for different target audiences
- In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards and compliance
