As a CNC Operator you will be very much ‘hands on’ in this physical role, working as part of the production team, expressing a can-do attitude and eye for quality. Your core responsibility will be to run our Milltronics XYZ, Haas VF6SS, Hartford Blockbuster PRO3150 and (incoming) Hartford Sword SW523 drilling machines (full training will be provided), and processing sheet materials, as part of the Optical Tables Business Unit.

Working Hours: Second Shift: Monday to Thursday 2:35pm to 11:05pm and Fridays 1:05pm to 8:05pm

Requirements

What is essential to us…

  • Experience operating Fanuc CNC machinery would be desirable, however any CNC experience would be useful but not essential
  • A practical ‘hands on’ approach with experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret and follow Standard Operating Procedures
  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus, with the ability to identify and resolve problems quickly
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of mechanical aptitude and practical skill is desired

  • Work within an allocated team to achieve scheduled manufacturing targets
  • You will be trained and developed to operate our drilling/tapping machines
  • Maintain high levels of attention to detail at all times, record and communicate accurate technical measurements and readings

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, using data to challenge current practices and enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure staff training, development, and performance management are aligned with business needs.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and 6S practices.
  • Oversee effective changeovers, ensuring equipment is left in safe and operational condition.
  • Coordinate with planning and maintenance teams to ensure minimal disruption and swift resolution of issues.
  • Manage non-conformance and ensure timely corrective actions following out-of-spec product tests or process deviations.
Key Criteria:
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership role, ideally high volume production environment.
  • Strong understanding of HSE and Quality Management Systems.
  • A proactive mindset with a strong focus on Continuous Improvement.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience of and comfortable working in a shift environment.
