We seek engineers who can think creatively about security threats, how to detect them, and how to respond. We encourage exploration and the sharing of unique ideas or perspectives.nThe Threat Operations security team focuses on identifying threats, security events, event analysis, incident response, and monitoring the security state of Thought Machine environments.

Duties

Contribute to a programme of continuous threat assessment, intrusion detection and vulnerability review

Develop, integrate, and operate security event detection and incident management services using Elasticsearch

Automate repeatable incident response workflows to minimise manual work during incidents

Maintain documentation to ensure repeatability and standardisation of incident response procedures

Respond to security incidents as they occur as part of an incident response rotation, managing incident response throughout the lifecycle

Perform investigation and analysis of security incidents in collaboration with engineers across the company

Perform threat intelligence research to provide proactive insight into new threat vectors

Develop, integrate, and operate data and metric reporting on relevant security measures

Participate in the team on-call rotation (compensated)

Requirements

Experience with logging and incident detection platforms, creating detections, triaging alerts and conducting security investigations

Understanding of security incident management and vulnerability management processes

Coding experience in Python or Go

Comfortable using the command line in Linux and macOS environments

Familiar with investigation and evidence handling techniques

Creative thinking and analytical skills focused on incident and threat investigations, with ability to communicate data and findings to stakeholders

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support collaboration during investigations

Familiarity with Cloud and container technologies (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Docker)

Contributions to the security community (open source tools, public research, blogging, presentations, etc.)

  • Plan the deployment phase along with the Architects and Project Managers as per defined timelines.

Post Deployment Support:

  • Draft test plans along with Test managers and Architects for assigned projects.
  • Help with fixing any bugs identified during testing or pilot phase.
  • Review any incidents created in the projects service now queue and involve the appropriate teams to help fix them.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Ability to forge strong relationship with change management, project management team members.
  • Work with end users to fix any bugs post deployment of solutions.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience working as security engineer on large scale programmes in the Cyber Security Portfolio largely on Identity based security, Data classification and Cyber Security Resilience.
  • Implementation knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID features like application integration, provisioning, MFA, SSPR and Conditional Access policies.
  • Prior experience deploying Data classification using Microsoft Purview for a large enterprise.
  • Experience collaborating with the Security Operations Centre (SOC) to optimise security monitoring, response planning and execution.
  • Understanding of vulnerability management and threat landscape detection and remediation.
  • Proven experience in being part of Disaster Recovery and Business continuity testing for critical applications.
  • Ability to perform basic Active directory administration tasks for project work such as user, group and Group policy updates.

Essential Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience of the M365 security stack : Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Entra ID, Device management using Intune, Identity Governance.
  • Cloud Security (Tenable, CyberArk, MDR,VPN)
  • Knowledge of best practices and procedures related to Cyber Essentials, UK DPA/GDPR

Desirable Experience

  • Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Checkpoint Firewalls and security policies
  • Ability to troubleshoot network related failures during deployments and identify root cause.

Security Service Engineer

South East London

Full Time | Permanent | 40 hours per week

Do you have experience in servicing and maintaining door entry, access control and CCTV Systems?

Attega Group  is currently partnering exclusively with our client in recruiting a Security Engineer to join the Team.

The main purpose of this role is to carry out Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on door entry, access control and CCTV systems.

This is a full-time, permanent role. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 08.00am to 16:30pm

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on door entry, access control and CCTV systems
  • Attending and resolving reactive fault calls
  • Small works installations
  • Supporting the team with site surveys and quotations
  • Providing excellent customer service and communication at all times
  • Participating in the London callout rota (1 in 4 weeks)

The ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience in the Security industry
  • Strong fault-finding skills (essential)
  • Knowledge of systems such as Entrotec, Paxton, Came, KMS, Bell, Label, Pac, Dahua, Hikvision, Axis (desirable)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good IT skills (Outlook, Excel, use of engineering apps preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence
