About The Role:

This is a remote role which will require coming into our head office occasionally. The position is within one of our product development teams, where you will be working on the delivery of a diverse number of e-commerce projects.

It would be a technical and hands-on role that would suit a backend engineer looking to use their experience in various web technologies, as you will be working on products built predominantly on Node.js using Typescript, Mulesoft and PHP.

Our Tech Stack:

We use a variety of tools and technologies but you are not expected to have worked with all of them. Our technology stack includes; NodeJS, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Amazon Web Services, Mulesoft , PHP and Snowflake

What You’ll Get To Do:

What will you do?

We’re looking for a backend engineer who is eager to continue their development and grow under the guidance of more experienced mentors. In this role, you'll contribute to building APIs for our mobile and web applications, writing maintainable and efficient code while adhering to project timelines. You will also be impactful and comfortable shipping to production from week one.

Technical

Our tech stack is primarily implemented in Python and hosted on AWS, incorporating technologies such as Flask, Pytest, Mypy, Docker, PostgreSQL, SQS, S3 and Terraform, and we deploy daily. While familiarity with these technologies is preferred, it's not mandatory; what matters most to us is your commitment to maintaining high engineering standards and the desire for continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Leadership

You'll closely collaborate with a team of product, design, front-end development, and trading experts, thriving in a collaborative and supportive environment. Under the mentorship of senior engineers, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and grow within the team.

Expectations

• 4+ years of professional coding experience in a dynamic or strongly typed language, with a strong preference for Python.
• Take ownership of projects and code, from initial design through to deployment and maintenance, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software products, actively participating in all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain a high standard of code quality across the team.
• Stay curious and proactive in learning about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance your skills and the team's capabilities.

We're seeking talented backend developers to join one of our three scrum teams. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping team growth and developing our code base. Working alongside five engineers, a UX designer, and a Product Manager, you'll have the autonomy to drive innovation in areas like social investment features, document and workflow management, and legal template generation. Teams are managed from within and report directly to the CTO, so you'll be working alongside with your manager to solve technical problems.

This is a unique opportunity to gain extensive knowledge of the startup world, VC fundraising, investor tax schemes, and more. As you work on complex projects, you'll also gain invaluable domain knowledge that will prepare you for entrepreneurship yourself.

We are BOB, a hybrid L2 to build and launch Bitcoin applications. Our mission is accelerating the world’s transition to a fair and transparent financial system through Bitcoin as a credibly neutral, global settlement asset. We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to implement Node.js and Rust APIs, extending SQL databases, and writing GraphQL endpoints for external and internal tools. Your job is to implement REST APIs for projects integrating with the BOB Fusion campaign (a points campaign) and other APIs as well as GraphQL endpoints for BOB in the future. You will further maintain the Postgres database to extend and optimize the campaign. You will collaborate with internal teams to create tools that allow us to analyze the data on the BOB L2 internally. You work closely with our BD and product teams to ensure that projects interacting with BOB are successful.

• Architect and build APIs in Node.js and/or Rust for external partners.
• Extend and optimize the internal Postgres database for the BOB Fusion campaign.
• Build subquery and data-pipelines using Goldsky.
• Build internal tools that allow the BOB team to analyze on-chain data using off-chain data.
• Engage in discussions with the core team on partner requirements and feature roadmap.
