Responsibilities & day to day duties
As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Participate in project kick-off meetings with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Review and validate CAD models and engineering drawings for feasibility and manufacturability, reporting and escalating any issues with the drawings.
- Conduct feasibility and design reviews in collaboration with Quality, Operations, and Project Management.
- Drive technical actions to support new product introductions and continuous improvement.
- Play a key role in the "OK to Ship" approval process.
- Liaise directly with customers and suppliers to resolve technical queries and recommend design improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring all designs meet required industry and quality standards.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of CAD design, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, sheet metal, castings, and extrusions.
- Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Excellent communication skills with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
- Experience within automotive or precision manufacturing environments preferred.
- Ideal for candidates who enjoy the technical challenge of translating design intent into manufacturable reality.

We are excited to announce an opportunity to join a leading EFW company based in Surrey as a Project Engineer. Our client is seeking someone who has at least two years project engineering experience, with exposure to process engineering projects such as Renewables, Energy, Petrochemical, Water, Oil & Gas (large industrial scale).
The role will assist in the development of technical requirements for project through the development, design and construction phase. You'll be involved in the project from the planning phase, through construction and commissioning, right the way through to handover of the project to the operations team.
Other Responsibilities may include:
- Coordinating multiple construction-related activities simultaneously such as planning designs, evaluating technical specifications & preparing cost estimates among others
