As part of the main contracts team, you will support a Project Manager(s) in all aspects of project engineering of fire protection systems, based in the London area.

Responsibilities
• Site surveys
• Procurement of labour, equipment and fabrication
• Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and site managers/supervisors
• In partnership with your Project Manager, be involved in the cost control of contracts/projects
• Keep records of installation progress and monitor against program of rewards
• Keep up to date site records, including diary of all site operatives working on your projects
• Maintain compliance on site with issued and approved method statements and risk assessments
• Assist with testing and commissioning
• Location is covering inside and around the M25
Essential Skills
• CSCS card
• Background in commercial sprinkler contracts, wet riser systems and dry riser systems
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office and similar project management software
Desirable

I’m currently recruiting for a Project Engineer on behalf of one of the leading main contractor. This is a site-based role, working on a cut and carve project.
The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for any technical issues, reporting directly to the Project Manager. My client is looking for experienced with cut and carve schemes and someone who has been involved in demolition, piling, temporary works installation, bulk excavation, basement construction and core build.
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering expertise during construction phases, including interpreting drawings and resolving technical issues. li>Ensure construction work meets design specifications, codes, and standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, changes, and progress reports.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Oversee and integrate design inputs from architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Ensure designs meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and project goals.
- Manage design changes and assess their impact on cost, schedule, and quality.
- Propose design alternatives that optimize cost and performance.
- Ensure designs comply with planning permissions, building regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Act as the main point of contact for design-related discussions with clients and stakeholders.
- Lead design teams, manage workloads, and ensure timely delivery of design packages.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Experience within cut and carve is essential
- 3-5+ years’ experience in a similar position ideally < i>Health and Safety qualification, SMSTS, CSCS Managers black card essential.

The right candidate will:
Responsible for the efficient and effective works delivery of a wide range of both major and/or minor highway improvement and repair schemes such as public realm enhancements, LiP schemes, planned carriageway/footway works, vehicle crossovers, street furniture replacements, patching programmes, Councillor improvement schemes, signing and lining works etc. and must be able to use AutoCAD
Responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of minor project designs and the associated day-to-day management and technical compliance of projects delivered by the team to ensure project outcomes (cost, quality, time, health & safety ) meet the required contractual, technical, and legal standards
- Undertake preliminary site surveys, taking various dimensions, logging street furniture, road markings and signs etc, to allow construction drawings to be prepared for the full assessment and implementation of all crossover works.
- Undertake consultation with internal and external parties as appropriate for the effective delivery of the crossover service
- Undertake site supervision and monitor the delivery of crossover works
- Raise Task/Works orders, undertake measurement of works, check contractor applications for payment, certification, assess variations and final accounts.
- Deal with enquiries and correspondence relating to crossovers.
We require the following:
- Significant experiences of highways project design and delivery.
- Experience of working in a wide range of Highways projects using both traditional and modern forms of design, maintenance and repair.
- Proven experience of meeting deadlines with effective accurate project reporting at management/project level.
