We are expanding our team and looking for a talented Senior Level Designer to contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of Phasmophobia and future projects.
You’ll be responsible for designing immersive and atmospheric levels that support gameplay, build tension, and tell compelling stories. You’ll collaborate closely with our Art Director and Concept Artist to transform ideas into playable, believable spaces that look and feel iconic.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll work cross-discipline with artists, designers, and programmers to ensure every level delivers on both gameplay and atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Design, prototype, and iterate on levels that support Phasmophobia’s core co-op horror gameplay
- Work closely with the Art Director and Concept Artist, using their visual designs and mood concepts to guide level layout and structure
- Own the implementation of levels — translating visual ideas into functional, atmospheric, and engaging playable spaces
- Ensure each level supports gameplay pacing, player flow, and technical requirements while maintaining the intended visual tone
- Collaborate with the narrative team to integrate environmental storytelling and lore
- Participate in playtests and help refine gameplay through level changes
- Maintain existing levels by fixing navigation issues, culling problems, interaction issues, collision problems, and other gameplay-impacting issues
- Contribute to the overall creative vision of future titles currently in development
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in level design, with at least one shipped commercial game
- Deep understanding of player flow, spatial design, pacing, and gameplay readability
- Proven ability to create engaging first-person environments that support tension and exploration
- Understanding of performance considerations for supporting a wide range of hardware and platforms
- Proficient in grey boxing, white boxing and comfortable iterating based on feedback
- Experience with Unity
- A keen eye for detail and a strong grasp of visual composition in level layouts
- Passion for horror games and emergent, systemic gameplay
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Due to our office location, the ability to drive is highly recommended

**Position Purpose**
The Mechanical Design Engineer is a competent and experienced design engineer, able to execute all design phases of a project (or multiple projects simultaneously). They may assume overall project responsibility or responsibility for particular project elements, and will monitor progress and report back to a senior engineer regards technical, schedule and budgetary constraints. The MDE Level III must maintain knowledge of the cutting edge of technology in relevant subject areas. Whilst the role does not involve any direct line management, there will be duties in delegation of work, planning, supporting and mentoring staff as required. An effective MDE Level III will demonstrate and develop their leadership skills to build high performance teams and maintain a positive approach to all challenges.
**Responsibilities**
+ Drives the development of new techniques and/or improved processes, documentation, or products. Familiar with company solutions across the range of disciplines.
+ Has ownership of larger project elements and/or small projects, ranging from proven schemes and solutions to more complex and novel applications, uses company reporting tools to track progress and reports up to SMD/SMDE or HOD.
+ Involved in/responsible for resolving key technical issues and/or unique conditions by using expertise gained through real world application.
+ Support bidding teams by inputting into product data sheets/client information for 'standard products'. Assist in breaking down the work into specific elements or work-packages, assign (or keep) responsibility. Take the design from concept through to detailed design, design reviews and release of production drawings and BOMS, and review this work when done by others.
+ Conduct the relevant calculations typically with hand calcs, Excel spreadsheets, FEA and specialist software, and review this work when done by others.
+ Support project management with client meetings, site surveys where required, technical or commercial queries and client design team comments & requests - challenging it as appropriate. Consideration of shipping & installation strategy to best guide the design. Processing any received-from-client materials and drawings, then handling updates from site red-lines, inspection - potentially including planning and supporting Site Acceptance Testing - preparation of complete project pack, formal compliance documents + O&M, labelling and signage, and final client sign-off.
+ Support production department with respective handover meetings from design, technical or commercial queries, update from red-lines, inspection - potentially including planning and supporting internal and external Factory Acceptance Testing and inspection visits - and sign-off.
+ Support legacy equipment (potentially designed by others - internal or external), via the support department or through other routes.
+ Supervises all staff necessary to complete assignments (where applicable).
+ Reviews and approves scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignment with supervision from others.
+ Plans, schedules, or coordinates the preparation of documents or activities for their elements or projects.

Manage the Supply Chain in the preparation of the CSA.
Special focus on the Subcontractors with design responsibility; MEP and Sprinklers, Acoustics, Building Services, Fire, etc.
Provide assessment of the performance of Supply Chain.
Building Control
Liaison with Building Control to ensure early Plan Check has been undertaken.
Ensure occupancy compliance with regards to Building Limiting Factors: Fresh Air Provision, Toilet Provisions and Means of Escape.
To be able to read and understand the buildings Fire Strategy document.
Ensure initial notice issued
Landlord, Statutory Authorities, 3rd Party Requirements, Incumbents
Liaise with and understand requirements of Landlords and Fit Out Guides.
Manage any Statutory Authority including Power (e.g. UKPN), Comms (e.g. Colt), Planning Permission, Listed Building Consent and Advertising Consents.
Prepare, negotiate and agree the Licences to Alter (LTA) with the Landlord / Landlord Professional Team.
Programme, Risk and Procurement Schedules
Prepare a PreConstruction Programme.
Work with Construction team to produce a Construction Programme highlighting key dates.
From the Construction Programme prepare Procurement Schedule
Health & Safety
Possess good understanding of Construction Health and Safety.
Prepare H&S documentation for handover to Construction Team.
Manage Client requirements in respect of Client's CDM responsibilities
Presentation
Prepare inputs into the Pitch Document.
Be part of the pitch team as the expert on Cost, Technical (MEP) Design, Project and Programme.
Effectively communicate project costs in a clear and straightforward manner, ensuring prompt and thorough responses to any inquiries.

The roles are offered on a hybrid basis, initially a few days a week in office, but this can reduce to once every two weeks in the Staffordshire Head Office
Key Responsibilities as the .NET Developer are:
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using .NET C# 8+ .
- Build and deploy cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure , including services like Azure Functions, App Services, API Management, and Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Architecture, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Contribute to the definition and evolution of engineering standards, governance, and architecture.
- Mentor junior developers (if senior) and promote a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Ensure solutions are secure, observable, and performant, following best practices in software engineering.

What experience do you need for these roles:
