We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Management Accountant / Cost Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional with strong costing and management accounting experience to join a dynamic team and play a key role in supporting business growth and efficiency.

As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and reliable financial information to support business decision-making. This role provides the opportunity to take ownership of key financial processes, contribute to strategic decisions, and work in a collaborative environment. The Role

  • Preparing and delivering insightful financial and business performance reports.
  • Conducting variance and cost analysis to highlight trends and opportunities.
  • Supporting monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting cycles.
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Leading the costing process across products and services, including standard costing and variance analysis.
  • Supporting inventory management and stock valuation.
  • Partnering with production, procurement, commercial, and other key stakeholders to ensure robust financial control and efficiency improvements.

The Person:

  • We are looking for a commercially minded and proactive finance professional who can work closely with stakeholders across the business.
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) OR QBE with extensive manufacturing finance experience.
  • Strong background in management accounting, year-end reporting, and product costing.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience using Sage 200 (essential).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing or improving finance and ERP systems. (desirable)

The role:

Reporting to the Management Accountant Lead, the Management Accountant provides comprehensive accounting support to the business, executing monthly accounting processes and ensuring appropriate accounting controls are followed. It is responsible for conducting analysis and providing reporting and insights direct to business stakeholders to support effective decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Effectively execute month end accounting processes (including balance sheet reconciliations), ensuring accuracy, integrity and completeness of financial information.

Responsible for the delivery of high-quality reporting, information packs, and commentary to support the Management Accountant Lead in providing insights to enable the business to make effective strategic and operational decisions.

Deliver customer service excellence to internal customers, ensuring financial performance insights are delivered directly to the business and that all financial performance is understood. Provide timely responses to queries received relating to month end processes.

Work collaboratively with teams across entities / functions to build strong relationships and ensure effective financial reporting support is provided across the business. Attend meetings to update on monthly performance, forecast updates and any risks and opportunities, to support effective decision-making.

Prepare forecast updates and provide effective narrative to internal customers to ensure the key messages are understood and that all business budget holders understand their budgets and forecasts.

Ensure that all controls for the function are properly conducted and any deviations are escalated as appropriate and remedied accordingly.

Deliver high-quality inputs to the regulatory reporting pack through liaison with the Regulation team to ensure smooth integration of deliverables into business submissions.

Support the external audit process and provide responses to any related queries to ensure the audit process is conducted smoothly and accurately.

Requirements:

Experience in delivering management accounting activities (including planning, forecasting, and budgeting).

Experience of using S/4 HANA is preferred.

Experience in a business facing role ideally in a regulated business.

Strong understanding of governance, risk, and internal control frameworks.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong customer service orientation.
