Are you a skilled mechanic with experience in construction machinery? We're looking for a Plant Mechanic to join our client's team in Carnwath, helping to maintain our expanding fleet of vehicles and construction plant used throughout the UK.
About the Role:
Working from their Carnwath depot, with occasional travel to sites, you'll be part of a dedicated team responsible for the servicing, repair, and inspection of a wide range of plant and vehicles. This includes:
- Telehandlers
- MEWPs
- Mobile cranes
- Trombone and standard lorry trailers
- Various other construction machinery
You'll be ensuring all equipment is maintained in line with manufacturer requirements, keeping our operations running safely and smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out regular servicing, repairs, and inspections
- Diagnose and repair faults in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Read diagnostic codes and perform timing belt replacements
- Order parts and materials as required
- Work both in the workshop and on-site when needed
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience with plant and construction equipment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

This role will provide experienced Mechanics/Technician the opportunity to progress into a new industry, learn new skills and be at the heart of a £5 Billion industry investment drive.
Your New Organisation
As a Heavy Vehicle Technician, you will play an integral part of a business with over 130 years of experience providing transportation, in keeping their existing fleet in service, as well as playing a key part of new fleet introductions, as the transportation market leans further into renewable means. This role will allow you to continue enhancing your existing skills within heavy transportation, in addition to giving you a strong footing to develop new skills as the market itself matures. Within your new post, you will be required to carry out fitment, installation, repairs, servicing, and testing of transportation vehicles.
The Candidate
- You will be comfortable with maintenance procedures of mechanical components such as brakes, suspension, engines, transmission, of motor vehicles.
- You will have previous experience pf working on HGV's, and PSV's
- You will understand complex mechanical drawings, and be able work to written specifications set by our client on how they wish for their vehicles to be maintained.
- You will understand the use of hand tools such as torque wrenches and be physically fit enough to handle them effectively.
Essential
- You will need to have an NVQ Level 3 in order to qualify for this role.
- Demonstrable experience of working in a maintenance remit on motor vehicles.
- You must be comfortable with morning Monday – Friday on a set 10 hour day shift.
- Comfortable with working on call 1 week out of 4 (Additional pay provided).
Salary
- £5 (Apply online only) (Inclusive of salary and additional pays)
- 75 on call additional pay + any hours worked.
