Duties:
Responsible for overseeing the production of product range from kitted parts to completed units,
Managing a team of approx. 14 staff, training, quality and performance management,
Planning and working to schedules, budgets and quality standards,
Ensuring all equipment and machinery is operated and maintained to health and safety standards,
Reporting to the General Manager and liaising with the purchasing, logistics, HR, Health and safety, quality and facilities departments.
Experience:
Must have previous production managerial experience within a mechanical or precision engineering environment including knowledge of processes, technical ability and high level attention to detail in addition to health and safety awareness.
Must have excellent communication and problem solving skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team.
Must have strong organisational skills with experience of working to deadlines and budgets, whilst maintaining quality standards.
Salary: £30,000 - 40,000 per annum dependent upon experience

As Production Manager you will report into the Senior Operations Manager and be responsible for a team of approximately 40 staff, including two Front Line Managers. This role is days based and would work alongside the Production Manager for the Assembly department.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing and leading your team, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and high performance.
- Ensuring that daily production targets and schedules are met while maintaining quality standards, collaborating with the Quality Assurance (QA) team.
- Promoting and enforcing health and safety practices to ensure a safe working environment in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Optimising production by supporting continuous improvement (CI) initiatives through monitoring and managing resources - including materials, people, and equipment

I am currently recruiting for a Production Manager to work for a cutting-edge technology company based in Glamorgan. Salary up to 55,000 + Benefits.
The organisation has been in operation for many years and are worldwide leaders within the design, development, and manufacture of their highly intelligent products. As a business they turnover north of 85m, employ 500 people and are constantly evolving their legacy products as well as designing and developing new innovative products to bring to market.
In line with demand for their products and to support the business with their growth plans they have the need to appoint another Production Manager on a 6-month FT contract basis.
In this role as a Production Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all KPI's are met from your team, with a specific focus on ensuring production output demand is met or exceeded. You will take ownership of the team and be expected to drive them forwards whilst developing them professionally. You will have 14 direct reports consisting of Team Leaders and Operational Leaders, with 100 people in total on shift mainly consisting of operators. There will be a big focus on Continuous Improvement and making the necessary process improvements. You will start on days which is typically 7-4pm Monday - Friday and then it will go to early and lates until the end of November which will be 7-4pm Monday - Friday then 2-11 Monday-Friday. December onwards will be a single shift which is 6-2 Monday-Friday.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Production Manager, Shift Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar
- Experience overseeing a minimum of 50 people
- Experience in a highly regulated environment (Aerospace, Automotive, Medical or Pharmaceutical)
- Experience with Continuous Improvement
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience with an MRP (Ideally SAP)
- 6 Sigma
