Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality early years education and care in line with the EYFS framework.
- Support and implement effective learning experiences for children aged 0-5 years.
- Act as a key person, building positive relationships with a designated group of children and their families.
- Conduct regular observations and assessments of children's progress, maintaining accurate records.
- Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all children, adhering to safeguarding policies.
- Contribute to the planning and preparation of age-appropriate activities and learning environments.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support children's learning and development.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and stimulating play environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
- Assist with the supervision of junior practitioners and apprentices.
- Uphold the nursery's policies and procedures at all times.
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education (or equivalent).
- Significant experience working within an early years setting, preferably in a senior or key person role.
- Thorough knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding procedures and health & safety in childcare.
- Strong observation, assessment, and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and caring attitude.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- First Aid certification is desirable.
