Position Summary
To provide dedicated Health and Safety support to the Washington Plant.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain the Health and Safety and Environmental Management systems to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standard including updating and implementing policies and procedures when required
+ Review and update the legal register as required
+ Manage the risk assessment process
+ Oversee first aid arrangements
+ Organise and deliver training
+ Update HSE Metrics
+ Write and issue reports as required
+ Write and issue Health and Safety briefings
+ Carry out regular safety audits and tours
+ Carry out Health and Safety & Environmental monitoring and assessments
+ Chair health and safety meetings and issue minutes
+ Coordinate accident and incident investigations including maintaining logs, statistics and ensuring actions are complete
+ Liaise with the HSE and other regulatory bodies as required
+ Develop and run health and safety initiatives
+ Manage PPE
+ Oversee Contractors procedures and permits to work
Any other duties commensurate with the position as and when required.
What we are looking for
+ Qualified to a minimum of NEBOSH Diploma level
+ At least 5 year's experience of Health, Safety and environmental practice in a manufacturing environment
+ Experience as an internal auditor
+ Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential
+ Must have practical auditing experience of ISO 45001 and ISO14001

**Key Areas of Responsibility**
+ Maintenance of EHS management system ISO 14001 in line with internal and regulatory requirements ensuring procedures and other documents are kept up to date.
+ Daily management of IPC Licence conditions and schedules.
+ Lead the ISO 45001 Implementation and sustain the standard.
+ Preparation and delivery of training programmes including induction and job specific EHS topics
+ Conducts regular EHS inspections and audits to monitor the effectiveness of the EHS management system and highlight any areas for attention/action.
+ Preparation of EHS reports/metrics for both internal and external stakeholders
+ Leads on EHS issues, stays abreast of evolving standards and technological solutions. Readily shares expertise with others
+ Leads the Emergency Response Programme ensuring the procedures, resources and training are in place to deal with all likely emergency scenarios on site
+ Ensures a robust EHS incident investigation process is in place. Monitors incident trends identifying areas requiring action. Leads investigations as necessary.
+ Assesses the EHS impact of proposed changes to plant, process, equipment etc. and identifies actions to ensure compliance and risk control.
+ Ensures effective risk assessment and risk reduction programmes are in place for the site
+ Monitors EHS legislation ensuring site compliance with current and future requirements as necessary.
+ Maintains waste management requirements and environmental monitoring programme in line with licence requirements
+ Leads EHS projects on site and/or across Ireland UK region as required and supports cross functional teams
+ Collaborates with site leadership to ensure alignment on priority EHS issues and plans to address same.
+ Promotes and supports a culture of accountability and collaboration in relation to safety and environmental performance and expectations.
+ Manages spend in line with budget and drives efficiencies and cost savings across EHS service and equipment providers.
+ Coordinate the planning of Facilities Contractor Works to ensure a safe, compliant and efficient working environment.
+ Schedule and maintain required facilities works in line with regional legislation.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelors Degree or Level 6 Qualification in EHS, Engineering or Science discipline or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

**Experience:**
+ 6+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent
+ Exceptional EHS experience and implementation of processes/systems to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
