They are seeking an SEO Lead to establish and own the SEO function from the ground up. This is a foundational, high-autonomy role reporting directly to the CMO, responsible for building a robust SEO strategy, managing technical challenges, and scaling the function to drive significant growth.
You will be the go-to expert for all things SEO, shaping processes, tools, and best practices, while also managing external agency relationships.
Responsibilities
Build and own the SEO function from scratch, with full ownership and accountability.

We're looking for a data-driven and creative SEO Specialist to join our Growth team at Blue Light Card. You'll play a key role in improving how Blue Light Card shows up in search, from traditional search engine optimisation through to emerging generative platforms like Google's Gemini and ChatGPT.
This is a hands-on role where you'll combine data, experimentation and creativity to help shape and deliver strategies that strengthen our visibility and grow awareness of our app and membership. And while your main focus will be SEO, there's also scope to develop your skills in App Store Optimisation (ASO), using your existing expertise to drive growth in other channels.
Our Growth team is one of the newest at Blue Light Card, using data to maximise member acquisition and engagement. Blending insight with creativity, we're making a big impact and delivering real results for our members and partners.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to and execute SEO and GEO strategies that improve our visibility across search and generative platforms
- Conduct keyword research to understand how our audiences (NHS, teachers, armed forces etc.) are searching
- Audit, monitor and improve on-page and technical SEO performance, working closely with developers to ensure best practice in site health, crawlability and indexation
- Collaborate with our Brand & Comms team to create human-focused, AI-friendly content that performs across both search engines and generative platforms

What You'll Bring

Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for driving and implementing the SEO performance across multiple brands in South Africa.
