The role:
- Manage all aspects of logistics (air, sea, and road) and communicate with carriers to guarantee on-time, economical delivery. li>Manage and instruct the packing team to improve workflow effectiveness and guarantee quality assurance.
- Comply with international trade standards when creating packing lists, invoices, customs declarations, and other shipment documentation.
- Share information and address any shipping-related concerns with internal teams, freight forwarders, and suppliers on a regular basis.
- Proactively look for ways to streamline logistics procedures and cut expenses.
- Use ERP & WMS to track shipments and deliver performance reports.
The candidate:
- 5 years' experience in shipping and logistics
- 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Knowledge of freight methods
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulousness to guarantee order accuracy and eliminate delays.
- Previous experience using an ERP and Warehouse Management System
- A thorough understanding of customs documentation and UK HMRC regulations is required.

The Warehouse, Logistics, Shipping & Demand Planner plays a pivotal role in orchestrating the company's supply chain operations by blending analytical expertise with cross-functional collaboration. This position leverages data from marketing, sales, finance, and retail partners to accurately forecast product demand and align inventory flow with business objectives. It also ensures seamless outbound shipping coordination to meet customer expectations efficiently and cost-effectively.
Demand Planning:
• Own and manage all forecasting activities related to assigned customers and product lines.
•Questioning the Sales forecast viability of the company provided by third party.
•Develop and refine statistical demand models using historical trends and syndicated data (e.g., IRI).
•Integrate business intelligence and input from sales, marketing, finance, and retailer replenishment analysts.
•Facilitate monthly forecasting reviews with cross-functional partners to ensure forecast alignment.
•Monitor forecast accuracy and drive continuous improvement in planning processes.
Shipping & Logistics Coordination:
•Oversee outbound shipment schedules and carrier relationships to ensure timely delivery.
•Align shipping activities with demand plans to minimize delays, reduce costs, and maintain service levels.
•Ensure compliance with global shipping documentation and regulatory requirements.

Background : Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field
Systems Expertise : Skilled in Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and forecasting tools
Logistics Acumen : Understanding of global shipping practices and carrier coordination
Strategic Mindset: Ability to balance operational detail with broader supply chain goals
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in demand planning, logistics, or supply chain roles
Competencies

Managing the import and inbound logistics of S&B Herba Liverpool, main areas being: -
- Produce and review relevant schedules, monitoring shipments in relation to contracts
- Liaising with relevant port authorities for intake vessels, stores and issues
- Management of import documentation
- Administration and liaison with HM Customs, payment of duties and customs clearances, plus applications / management of import licences and tariff rate quotas (TRQs), including relevant audits

- Liaising with inland hauliers (bulk and containers) to stores and to our sites
- Management of customs warehouses, plus other relevant warehouse and storage facilities
- Management of relevant local inventory
- Internal communication with Ebro Group Companies, Supply Chain, Technical and the Liverpool site, plus others
- Controlling costs associated with imports and storage, informing accounts team / management
- Review of intake data
- System administration including stock receipts, purchase orders, invoices
- Relevant quality control and reporting
- Liaising with customers of food waste products
- Physical checks of silo stocks plus other stores. Checking stock movements and stocktaking
- Collaboration with and limited holiday cover for Shipping Manager at our Fulbourn site
About you:
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Import experience preferably within a food or FMCG environment
- Experience of working with HM customs, shipping lines, logistics providers, storage agents plus others involved with inbound movement of goods. Able to co-ordinate between such agencies and problem solve where required
- Preferably educated to degree level or similar with relevant qualifications / formal training in import / logistics management
- Great communication skills
- Microsoft office suite, plus experience in ERP systems (JDE preferred)
