We are currently recruiting a Controls Engineer to deliver high-quality programmable control systems (PLCs, Robots, HMIs, etc.) from concept through to customer handover and support. This role involves hands-on commissioning, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and contributing to digital innovation within automation systems.
The successful candidate will require extensive Siemens PLC experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and integrate PLC, HMI, Robot, Safety, Drive, Vision, and SCADA systems.
- Produce Functional Design Specifications (FDS) based on client requirements.
- Support hardware design selection (e.g., ePLAN, Pneumatics).
- Conduct virtual and on-site commissioning of automation systems.
- Configure and test networking and distributed I/O systems (e.g., Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and produce CE documentation.
- Lead FAT/SAT activities and conduct training during system handover.
- Provide after-sales technical support and assist with warranty claims.
- Promote and integrate Industry 4.0 technologies.
- Mentor junior engineers and support training initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in automation engineering with strong integration background.
Proficiency in:
- PLC/HMI Programming (Siemens TIA Portal)
- Safety Systems (TIA Safety, Rockwell, Pilz)
- Robot Programming (ABB, Fanuc, Kawasaki)
- Drive & Vision Systems (Siemens, SEW, Bosch, Cognex, Keyence)
- Excellent communication, project management, and time-management skills.
- Willingness to travel and work flexibly across locations.
- Paid hourly overtime.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HNC or Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Recognised vendor training (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, ABB).
