Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Lead Industrial Process Engineer to spearhead automation and control initiatives within their manufacturing facilities located in London, England, UK . This senior role involves the design, implementation, and optimization of industrial processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety through advanced automation technologies. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing technical direction and mentorship. Key responsibilities include analyzing existing production processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing comprehensive automation strategies. This involves selecting and integrating PLCs, SCADA systems, robotics, and other control systems. You will be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to detailed design, implementation, commissioning, and ongoing support. A strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and data-driven process improvement is essential. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in industrial automation and process engineering. Proven experience in leading engineering projects and teams is required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills are crucial for success in this dynamic, hybrid role.

- Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
- Specify, select, and integrate control hardware and software (PLCs, SCADA, HMI).
- Develop and manage automation project plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Oversee the commissioning and validation of new automated systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers and technicians.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation and process control issues.
- Implement process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- BSc/MSc in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial process engineering and automation.
- Proven experience in leading engineering projects and teams.
- Expertise in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and HMI design.
- Strong knowledge of industrial control systems and instrumentation.
- Experience with robotics and automated machinery.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
