Our client, a leading international consultancy in the natural resources sector, is seeking a highly experienced Remote Geotechnical Engineer specializing in Site Assessment to join their fully remote, dynamic technical team. While our operations connect talent globally, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for professionals based near Derby, Derbyshire, UK , or anywhere within the UK, to contribute to critical mining and infrastructure projects. You will be instrumental in evaluating subsurface conditions, assessing geological hazards, and providing expert recommendations for mine planning, site development, and geotechnical stability. This is a senior-level position requiring extensive experience in geological fieldwork, data analysis, and the application of advanced geotechnical principles. Your responsibilities will include planning and managing geotechnical investigations, including drilling programs and in-situ testing; interpreting a wide range of geotechnical data, such as soil and rock mechanics, hydrogeology, and seismic surveys; performing advanced numerical modeling for slope stability, seepage, and ground-response analysis; and preparing comprehensive geotechnical reports, including design recommendations and risk assessments. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, mining engineers, and structural engineers, providing critical geotechnical input throughout project lifecycles. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mining operations, tailings management, and geotechnical challenges specific to the extractive industries. Qualifications:
