Senior Facilities Management Lead - Bridgwater, UK

About the Role

Senior Facilities Management Lead

Full-Time, Permanent. Contractual Location: Hinkley Point C, 5 days a week on site.

Step into a role where your leadership will help power the future. As a Senior Facilities Management Lead at EDF UK, you’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects—ensuring that a workforce of over 12,000 can operate safely, efficiently, and without delay. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are ready to make a tangible impact, this could be your next big move.

The Opportunity

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

As a Senior Facilities Management Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational delivery of essential site services. Reporting to the Facilities Service & Area Manager, you’ll lead a team of Delivery Leads and act as a subject matter expert for your area. You’ll ensure that services are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards—keeping the HPC construction programme running smoothly and without interruption.

Pay, Benefits & Culture

In addition to a competitive salary of £79,000 we offer a competitive benefits package, including a company pension scheme, and a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll lead the delivery of critical facilities services across a vast and dynamic construction site, ensuring that everything from site infrastructure to welfare facilities supports the needs of thousands of workers. Your leadership will be key in managing complex contracts, maintaining compliance, and driving performance across safety, quality, and cost.

Acting as deputy to the Facilities Service & Area Manager, you’ll oversee budgets, mentor your team, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to resolve challenges and keep operations on track. You’ll also play a central role in developing and executing tactical plans, ensuring that services are delivered with precision and foresight.

From managing temporary works and property assets to ensuring environmental and safety standards are met, your work will directly support the success of one of the UK’s most important energy projects.

Who You Are

You bring a degree-level education or equivalent senior management experience in a related industrial setting, along with a strong technical background and a solid understanding of British standards, CDM regulations, and facilities management. You’ve successfully delivered within large-scale projects and are confident managing significant budgets and complex service packages.

You’re a natural communicator who builds strong relationships across all levels, both internally and externally. You’re solutions-focused, with the ability to navigate complexity and drive continuous improvement. Ideally, you’ll also bring experience in high-security environments, behavioural safety programmes, and hold qualifications such as IOSH, NEC3, or PRINCE2/APM.

Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

Closing date for applications is Sunday 17th August, interviews will follow shortly after.

As the FM Assurance Lead, you’ll play a vital role in overseeing the delivery of essential facilities services that support the construction of HPC. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be the driving force behind ensuring that all facilities management services meet statutory, regulatory, and project-specific requirements. Through regular audits, inspections, and performance monitoring, you’ll identify areas for improvement and ensure non-compliance issues are swiftly resolved. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, compliant, and high-performing environment across all HPC and associated development sites.

You’ll work closely with contract partners, fostering a collaborative and respectful culture that champions integrity and shared success. By ensuring teams are fully competent and aligned with project goals, you’ll help deliver services that exceed expectations and support the wider construction programme.

Your role will also involve supporting nuclear site licence compliance, using data analysis and reporting to uphold safety and assurance standards. With a proactive mindset and a ‘one team’ approach, you’ll anticipate challenges and implement solutions before they escalate.

Who You Are

You bring a strong foundation in facilities or building management, ideally supported by a degree or equivalent experience. You’re well-versed in relevant legislation—fire safety, water hygiene, and asset management systems like CAFM and SFG20—and have a proven track record in service-led environments, particularly within high-security or large-scale projects.

You’re confident, adaptable, and thrive in dynamic settings. Your communication skills help you build effective relationships, and you’re committed to learning from both success and setbacks. Experience in behavioural safety programmes, IOSH accreditation, or a background in FM environments would be a bonus—but your willingness to collaborate and lead with integrity is what truly sets you apart.

Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

Closing date for applications is Sunday 17th August, interviews will follow shortly after.
