• Plan, manage, and execute comprehensive ground investigations, including site reconnaissance, desk studies, and field testing (e.g., trial pits, boreholes, CPT).
• Interpret geotechnical data from site investigations and laboratory testing to assess ground conditions.
• Design foundations (shallow and deep), retaining walls, earthworks, and other geotechnical structures.
• Perform detailed analyses for slope stability, settlement, seepage, and seismic performance.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, including factual and interpretative findings, design recommendations, and mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
• Provide expert geotechnical input during the construction phase, including site supervision, monitoring, and problem-solving.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and industry best practices.
• Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring profitable and timely project completion.
• Mentor and guide junior geotechnical engineers and technicians.
• Contribute to the development of technical standards and quality assurance procedures.
• Stay abreast of advancements in geotechnical engineering technology and methodologies.
• Undertake health and safety duties as required, including site safety inspections.

• BEng/MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng MIStructE/MICE) or nearing chartered status.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, covering both site investigation and design.
• Proven experience in designing various types of foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software packages (e.g., PLAXIS, Geo5, Slope/W, Seep/W).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and hydrogeology.
• Experience in managing multiple geotechnical projects simultaneously.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a technical team.
• Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to sites across the UK.
• Familiarity with ground improvement techniques and remediation strategies.

Land & Development Consultant

Shoreditch, London

Basic salary from £25,000 up to £5,000 depending on experience (entry level to senior)

PLUS uncapped commission scheme, OTE circa 2,000- 0,000 per annum in your first year, depending on experience

Monday to Thursday, 8:45am to 6.00pm, Friday, 8:45am to 5:00pm, Saturdays (on a rota basis), 10:00am to 4:00pm

Requirements

As a Land & Development Consultant your main responsibility will be to source and negotiate acquisition of land for development opportunities, selling our sales and lettings services and conveyancing, to meet agreed performance targets.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a tenacious and ambitious property professional who has a good understanding of both the residential and commercial property markets, as you will have the opportunity to be involved in some highly regarded projects and can learn from real experts in the field.

As a Land & Development Consultant, your daily activities will consist of;

• Source and target opportunities for potential new developments

• Produce development appraisals and market analysis for specific sites / locations
• Perform weekly touting
• Attend site visits
• Negotiate offers to acquire land on behalf of clients
• Provide client feedback

The successful candidate will have/be;

• Previous and recent work experience in a similar Land / Development sales role would be preferable OR a proven track record of achieving sales targets in the property industry
• A good understanding of the role of a Land Consultant within the residential & commercial sales and lettings sector, and can explain processes and responsibilities regards plans/contracts/tenancy agreements, deposits, invoices, arrears, tenancies etc
• Ability to work independently combined with excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong sales, negotiation and articulate communication skills
• Tenacious and resilient with a drive to succeed
