WHAT OUR MULTI SKILLED MAINTENANCE ENGINEERS DO:
- Maintenance of DC motors and associated drives
- Maintenance of process control equipment
- Electrical installations and/or mechanical installation work
- Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance systems (mechanical and electrical)
- Breakdown maintenance involving fault finding on industrial and process control systems
- Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs on PVCu recycling extrusion plant and equipment
WHAT WE NEED FROM OUR MULTI SKILLED MAINTENANCE ENGINEERS:
- Mechanical and Electrical installation and maintenance experience
- Recognised Electrical / Mechanical maintenance apprenticeship / training scheme Level 3
- Understand and be able to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- Previous experience of maintenance and repair of PLC systems
- Full Driving license required

Due to continued investment and an opening of a new facility in 2026 we are looking for two multi skilled maintenance engineers for an ambient food manufacturer in Ilkeston, this is a great time to join the team with up and coming projects to get involved in as well as reactive and proactive maintenance of the current site. We are looking for both a lead engineer & a maintenance engineer.
You will be working a Monday - Friday, Mornings & Afternoons pattern with a slight variation of four weeks of Mornings followed by one week of afternoons this is a great role to offer that work life balance.
The role of a maintenance engineer:
- Day to day maintenance of the facility and the “Planned Preventative Maintenance” system.
- Ensure at all times the plant is maintained to ensure safe and efficient and timely continued operation.
- Where required assist with the installation and implementation of capital projects.
- Adhere to relevant procedures and assist where required with the control of contractors involved with maintenance operations and capital projects whilst working at the facility
- Work as a team player within the engineering department and help with meeting all agreed objectives.
- Assist with compliance of the safety, health, environmental and quality policies when required
- Assist in maintaining a strong health and safety awareness culture within the engineering and other departments.
- Follow the any specified requirements on risk assessments in relation to the engineering and other department functions.
- Follow the requirements of permits and safe systems of work.
- Ensure that site housekeeping in sections within your control are maintained to the required standard.
Qualifications & Skills required in this Maintenance engineers role:
- Recognised Engineering qualification, minimum of a level 3
- Multi-Skilled approach either Mechanical or Electrical Bias
- Experience of working with manufacturing machinery
- Background preferably in Food Manufacturing or FMCG.
