Working alongside the client’s own staff the role will include working on the installation of a range of components and will involve all aspects of basic mechanical fitting.
The work will be on a day shift basis
Applicants must have a proven track record in a similar role and have some previous technical or engineering experience Previous experience of machine building or assembly would be advantageous.
This is an ongoing long-term contract for the right candidate.

What we are looking for from a Skilled Inspector:
- Completed a modern engineering apprenticeship (4 years) or 3 years of experience with a Level 3 NVQ (fabrication & welding considered with sufficient CNC experience).
- Strong background in CNC machining.
- Familiarity with Siemens control systems and experience with 3-axis or 5-axis machinery.
- Comfortable working in a precision-led environment; exposure to large or complex parts (e.g. nuclear, aerospace, F1, or high-end automotive) highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform dimensional and visual inspection with clear understanding of technical and customer requirements.

Semi-skilled Site Fitter or Skilled Labourer required for client within the construction / steel erection industry. You must hold Scissor Lift / Cherry Picker / MEWP / PAL / IPAF licence to drive Scissor and Boom vehicles (3a and 3b) on client’s site(s). You should be willing and able to carry out mechanical fitting / steel erection using hand and power tools to assemble components on the ground and also at heights.
Duration
This will be a permanent position but will probably be via a temp-to-perm transition. Often working away from home, within a team, typically starting out from the client's central base near Stoke-on-Trent each Monday morning and returning on Friday afternoon. Hotel Accommodation and breakfast is provided and paid for (in advance) by the company.
Role
Reporting to the Site Manager / Installation Team Leader and working as part of the site team, you will be responsible for assisting with the erecting of structural steel work / steel framework including: drilling, fixing and working at heights.
Applicant
Qualifications must include CSCS card and IPAF 3a & 3b or similar
Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness and Abrasive Wheels experience / qualifications would be useful too.
You should be experienced in assembly of steel framework, rigging, erecting, steel fixing and competent at reading general arrangement drawings.
Rates
