Junior Installation Engineers – Wireless & Radio Systems

Location: Livingston (with UK-wide travel)

Salary: £30,000–£40,000 DOE

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We’re partnering with a leading UK systems integrator in the wireless and TETRA communications space to hire two Junior Engineers and one Senior Engineer for their Chepstow site.

The company is the UK’s principal TETRA supplier, delivering mission-critical communication systems across policing, prisons, retail, offshore, and public safety sectors.

This is a hands-on installation and commissioning role, working on nationwide wireless and IP-based projects — from IoT safety networks to high-profile government deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission wireless mesh and TETRA systems

• Travel nationwide for project delivery (expenses covered)

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Aptitude to learn new technologies and software commissioning

• Full UK driving licence (max 6 points) – vehicle provided for senior hires

• Plan, schedule, and execute complex installation projects for industrial equipment.

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial equipment installation and maintenance.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding technical documentation and schematics.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel as required for site installations.
• A proactive approach to safety and quality assurance.

• Carrying out Installation works on systems such as Access Control, CCTV Fire Systems & Intruder Systems to the relevant standard.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the current industry standards as well as working to the NSI code of practice.
• To be always fully aware of our contractual requirements and our customer needs.
• Assist with reporting to Supervisor/ Manager

• Experience in the installation of Fire Alarm Systems.
• Experience in the installation Intruder Alarm Systems.
• Sound technical and environmental awareness.
• Have a good understanding of Health & Safety issues.
• Full clean driving license.
• ECS/CSCS/Trade Card.
• FIA Modules would be advantageous.

• Lead and supervise the installation of HVAC systems, including ductwork, chillers, boilers, air handling units, and control systems.

• Proven experience as an HVAC Engineer with a strong focus on installation.
• City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in an HVAC-related discipline.
• F-Gas certification is essential.
• Experience with a wide range of HVAC equipment and systems.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, air flow dynamics, and control systems.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices within the construction industry.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• CSCS card or equivalent is highly desirable.

• Lead and manage the installation of HVAC systems, including boilers, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and associated pipework and ductwork.

• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians on site, providing guidance and ensuring best practices are followed.
• Conduct pre-installation surveys and assessments to identify potential challenges and plan work effectively.
