As Software Development Manager, you will lead multiple Agile sprint teams made up of software engineers, quality professionals, and product experts. You'll be responsible for the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring that delivery aligns with strategic objectives while maintaining an exceptional standard of quality. Acting as both a coach and motivator, you'll enable your teams to perform at their best, supporting both personal and technical growth.

Collaboration will be central to your role: you will work closely with senior stakeholders to align development with product vision, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to drive the organisation forward. You'll also spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, refining processes and practices to elevate delivery flow and maintain the company's reputation for excellence.

The ideal candidate will bring significant experience managing medium to large in-house development teams, strong technical understanding of modern coding practices, and a proven track record in Agile environments. Software Development Manager (Java C# TDD) Cheshire onsite to £180k+

As a Software Development Manager you will manage three, small product focussed teams; leading delivery, taking ownership of planning, resourcing, sizing and timelines, managing team structure and hiring to match evolving requirements. You'll drive technical scoping, shape solutions and align on feasibility, remove blockers and obstacles and run meaningful Agile ceremonies that add value. You will act as a "sounding board" for software engineers and provide coaching, ensuring a positive, diverse and professional team culture.

You will promote continuous improvements in processes, tooling and communication, collaborating closely with Product Managers, UX, QA and other business stakeholders across the business in an impactful role.

• You are an experienced technical leader without ego
• You have previous experience as a software engineer (ideally with Java or C# experience) and a strong knowledge of modern cloud based software engineering

• You are delivery focussed and can keep engineers focussed and unblocked, bringing clarity and structure
• You have experience of driving continuous improvements, upskilling engineers and healthy team culture
• You are collaborative and pragmatic
