Hayward Hawk are exclusively recruiting for an NI based experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to play a hands-on role in delivering high-quality, enterprise-scale systems in a hybrid automation/manual environment with a strong emphasis on innovation, quality, and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Lead quality assurance across complex projects from planning through to post-production support.
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, integration, regression, performance, and usability testing.
Define, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and scenarios, ensuring full coverage and traceability.
Collaborate with global stakeholders across development, product, and regulatory teams to drive quality across all phases of the SDLC.
Create and manage documentation and QA reporting within tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Zephyr.
Requirements:
8+ years of QA experience, with strong hands-on automation and manual testing skills.
Expertise in Selenium, Cucumber, and hybrid automation frameworks (keyword-driven, data-driven, BDD).
Strong experience testing APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and managing test environments.
Experience working within the banking or financial services domain is preferred.
Skilled in CI/CD and DevOps tools like Jenkins, UDeploy, Bitbucket, TeamCity, and SonarQube.
Ability to analyse complex test requirements, adapt to changing priorities, and lead initiatives in high-pressure environments.
Proven track record of managing end-to-end QA for large-scale, mission-critical applications ideally in the regulatory or compliance space.

**About the Opportunity**
As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a PLC/SCADA Software Testing Engineer to join the team based out of our Westlakes Testing Facility.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Plan and prioritise own work to ensure that functional project requirements are on scope, time and cost are met
+ Carry out testing of the PLC/SCADA code produced by others
+ Carry out commissioning activities at client site as required, to ensure successful engineering handover
+ Ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained
+ Recognise and address potential and actual cross-discipline issues and conflicts so that overall engineering input to a project is coherent
+ Develop own engineering experience and skills, moving towards the capability to move to a more senior role and towards professional qualification
**Here's What You'll Need:**
+ Degree qualified in appropriate discipline
+ PLC/SCADA knowledge
+ Substantial relevant experience, typically at least 4 years of experience in relevant project design work, is required to fully perform the role
+ Mobility and flexibility to work anywhere in home country
+ Previous experience of working with existing Sellafield plants / brown field sites is important, but not essential. The candidate should, however, have previous experience in a similar role.
+ Can produce, check, and provide technical oversight of CE&I key deliverables documents / reports, calculations, schedules, drawings etc. to programme and appropriate quality
+ Able to deliver to relevant standards, codes and regulations
+ Able to work collaboratively with other disciplines, stakeholders, and the wider project team
+ Capable of producing and being accountable for their own effective time management, planning activities, task estimates and progress reporting
+ Understands self-limitations and the value / importance of escalation as and when necessary, during the design process
+ Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Has strong interpersonal skills and is able to interact with people at all levels
+ Familiarity and experience of working and complying with applicable SL practices, standards, and engineering guides
