**Job Description**
AECOM is seeking a qualified and proactive **Legal Counsel (Solicitor)** to join our European Legal and Risk Management team. This position will report directly to the **Senior Legal Counsel** within our Europe and India Legal team and forms part of a collaborative and dynamic legal department that values strong cross-functional partnerships and business alignment.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and practical legal support across a broad range of construction and infrastructure projects throughout Europe. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile, nationally significant infrastructure developments while contributing to the continuous improvement of legal services at AECOM.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Provide legal advice and support across AECOM's European business lines, managing a diverse portfolio of legal documentation related to engineering and construction projects.
+ Partner closely with project teams to deliver strategic legal counsel on major infrastructure initiatives.
+ Deliver training sessions and risk briefings to senior executives and business stakeholders on critical legal issues.

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Qualified solicitor with 1-5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally gained within a recognised law firm or a reputable in-house legal team.
+ Fluent in **English and French** , with strong drafting and negotiation experience in commercial contracts-preferably within the construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
+ Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels, including senior executives and cross-functional teams.
+ A commercially minded, proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
+ Confident in managing a varied workload with a solutions-oriented approach to legal and business challenges.
**Preferred Qualifications & Experience**
+ Experience advising on civil law frameworks in **France or the Benelux region** is highly advantageous.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both legal and non-legal audiences.
+ Familiarity with legal budget management and external counsel oversight.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Real Estate Solicitor to join a respected legal practice based in London. This role is ideal for a Solicitor with experience in commercial and/or residential property, looking to further their career within a well-established and supportive team.

The firm is known for its high-quality work across a wide range of property transactions and development matters. As a Real Estate Solicitor , you'll be joining a busy department handling acquisitions, disposals, lease negotiations, and development projects for a variety of clients including developers, investors, and high-net-worth individuals. This opportunity would suit a Solicitor who is confident managing their own caseload and looking for long-term progression.



The Solicitor's role

The Solicitor will manage a full caseload of real estate matters with minimal supervision. Work will include sales and purchases of commercial and residential properties, landlord and tenant matters, refinancing, and support on development projects. You will liaise directly with clients and other stakeholders, providing clear, timely legal advice and ensuring smooth transaction processes from instruction to completion.

You'll also have the opportunity to support senior fee earners on complex transactions and contribute to the continued growth of the department. Excellent drafting skills and a practical, commercial approach will be key to success in this role.



The Solicitor

  • Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales

  • 1-4 years' PQE in real estate law (residential and/or commercial)

  • Strong technical knowledge of property law

  • Ability to manage a busy caseload independently

  • Excellent communication and client care skills

  • Experience with development work is desirable but not essential
