Job Description
One of the frustrations of being a Design Engineer is that you design the perfect machine, and then you have to let it goto someone else who runs the project, changes the build, upsets the spec, and it comes back to you for a re-design. Ever been caught in that trap?
Not here.
In this role, you'll be using your experience to design a machine and its parts to solve a customers' problem AND then you'll move on to manage the project too. Involvement from start to finish, seeing your machine through from the concept, design, drawing, and the build stages, through delivery, commissioning and handover, and seeing it working at the end.
Ideal for a Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineer with a range of 3D CAD design skills, specifying the moving parts, the pneumatics, working on materials selection and structures for the machine through to the tiny details- how do we move this, how do we grip that, what speed does the conveyor move at?
Some of your work will be "one-off machines" to solve one problem, sometimes it will be a better packaging machine, a faster way of joining two parts together,a way of counting exactly 40 pills into a bottle every time, not 39 or 41. Could be anything-- but it's always problemsolving, and always your machine to design and then carry through to the end of the project.
A really interesting job with total involvement . OK, we concede that we will not get an Engineer who is strong in all of thespecial purpose machinery mechanical design aspects- but a qualified Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineer with a liking for machinery, Solidworks, Solid Edge, or other 3D CAD skills, and a curious, enquiring mind would be perfect for this. Especially someone who wants the chance to see a job through- not hand it over!
For more details , please send a copy of your CV to Mark Burnard at Hartland Recruitment, or give him a call for a chat about the role.
Hartland Recruitment - a specialist technical recruitment agency, finding Engineers for the UK's automation, control systems and machinery manufacturers since 1990.
This position is commutable from Leicester, Coventry, Nottingham and Northamptonshire too.
