Our Commodity Managers conduct Make v Buy exercises, develops sourcing strategies and Business Cases, selects sources, negotiates and manages supplier agreements of various types (Commodity/Service/ Consultant/ International) associated with medium complexity supplier requirements. **Essential Skills and Experience:**
+ As well as having a related degree/MCIPS, you will have experience in Supply Chain, Subcontract Management, Procurement, Commodity and/or related field
+ Experience in managing stakeholder groups, as well as ability to lead or perform effectively in a multi-functional team
+ Knowledge of import/export legislation and logistical requirements
+ Administration of delivery/acceptance/invoicing of goods and services
+ Experience in or exposure to negotiating low/medium complexity non-standard agreements including Service Level requirements

+ Leverages supplier and industry capabilities in conjunction with Stakeholder functions to align functional strategies and identify gaps to link supplier capabilities with Raytheon requirements.
+ Develops Commodity Agreements
+ Develops and manages tenders. Performs or supports cost and price analysis, develops negotiation strategies, and leads negotiations in order to create value for money outcomes for procuring goods and services
+ Produces business cases/ briefing materials for management reviews
+ Works with suppliers and functional stakeholders to achieve collaborative partnering, strategic relationship management to deliver required service level KPIs
+ Establishes and manages supplier relationships to include supplier continuous improvement/development goals.
+ Executes to customer requirements including government regulations, public law and Raytheon policies and procedures.
+ Actively promotes the contributions that the function can make to achieving corporate objectives across the organisation, with stakeholders and with the supply chain

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to optimise their global supply chain. This role offers a hybrid working model, blending remote flexibility with essential on-site collaboration. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers to ensure the procurement of high-quality components and materials at competitive prices. This position requires a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, negotiation strategies, and risk management within the automotive sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key commodity groups within the automotive supply chain.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential new suppliers and assess supplier performance.
  • Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms, pricing, and service level agreements.
  • Manage existing supplier relationships, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive monitoring, contingency planning, and supplier diversification.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, manufacturing, finance) to understand material requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive supplier database and performance metrics.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, value analysis, and supplier development programs.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing policies and sustainability initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on sourcing activities, savings achieved, and supplier performance for senior management.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex supplier negotiations.
  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing methodologies, contract management, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret market data and financial information.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and sourcing software.
  • Understanding of global supply chain logistics and risk management principles.
  • MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous.
This role is based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, UK , and requires a candidate who can effectively balance remote work with collaborative in-office presence.

Our client based in West Sussex has a new Strategic Sourcing Manager to drive supply chain deliverables, optimize engineering inventory, and ensure the successful introduction of new products to market.

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be a critical leader in their product development process.  You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage prototype material availability, optimize costs, identify risks, and ensure production readiness. This role is key to aligning supply chain strategies with the dynamic demands of new product introductions.

Responsibilities as a Strategic Sourcing Manager  in Littlehampton.

  • Develop and manage material cost models, focusing on value chains and cost drivers to optimize material costs.
