Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee the planning and delivery of contracted bus services across the region. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, contract management, and improving public transport outcomes for communities.

The role will work in the Public Transport Team, as part of the Place and Connectivity Directorate. You will report into the Assistant Director for Public Transport.


What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the delivery of contracted bus services and advising on the commercial network.
  • Managing procurement processes and contracts with bus operators to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Overseeing timetable planning and service expansion opportunities.
  • Monitoring performance and reporting progress to senior stakeholders and committees.
  • Acting as the lead expert on bus service delivery and governance models.
  • Liaising with regulatory bodies including VOSA and the Traffic Commissioner’s Office.


We’re looking for someone with:

  • Education to a degree level or equivalent experience working at a commensurate level.
  • Extensive experience in bus service delivery, ideally through contracted mechanisms.
  • Strong contract management and procurement skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.

We are seeking a highly driven **Associate Director** to join our Ireland Roads, Public Transport, and Greenways Team delivering projects across the country.

Working within a well-established group the candidate will provide technical, commercial, and team leadership to our multidisciplinary teams which will be based on strong track record in the Roads & Greenways consultancy sector. You will be expected to interface in person with clients across Ireland.

We are looking for confidence in preparing feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed designs, and administration of contracts through construction and handover. Rates of pay:

5.00/hour for Monday to Saturday work

No Sunday or Bank Holiday work required

The pay period is monthly, running from the 24th day of one month to the 23rd day of the next month. Salary is paid by BACS transfer on the last working day of each month.

The role and expectations for PCV Bus Drivers:

    You are punctual, reliable, helpful, friendly, customer- and safety-focused in order to provide our valued passengers with the best possible service.
  • You hold a current and valid PCV (Category D) Driving Licence.
  • You hold a current and valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
  • You will be able to reliably commute or relocate to Dunsfold, Surrey.

Salary: £15.00 per hour < >

Experience: UK Bus Driving: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • P V (Category D) Licence (required)
  • Driver CPC Qualification Card (required)
