Our integrated community drug and alcohol service offers support to individuals across Wiltshire. You will work within a busy prescribing service under the supervision of our Clinical Services Manager and Clinical Lead, alongside our Clinical Team, Team Managers and specialist Recovery Workers and Volunteers to improve the wellbeing of a wide range of individuals.

Role Responsibility

As a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or Pharmacist Prescriber, you will be involved with opiate substitute treatment (OST) interventions, benzodiazepine reductions, alcohol and opiate detoxifications and relapse prevention medications. You will also provide support for health care assessments, administering detoxification medication for clients, administering pabrinex , completing alcohol and opiate detoxification assessments, providing Blood Borne Virus (BBV) screening and vaccinations and will work closely with mental health, physical health and social care services. You’ll also help to create a collaborative approach that links Turning Point ever closer to outside professionals and agencies.

You will attend a local prescribers meeting, one to one clinical supervision and national prescriber/clinician meetings which will also support your learning and continuous professional development. Full training and supervision is provided from our Clinical Services Manager and Clinical Lead. You will have a real opportunity to help shape service delivery and contribute to delivering clinically excellent services.

Join Our Team as a Non-Medical Prescriber!

Are you ready to make a real difference in people's lives? We have an exciting opportunity for two passionate Non-Medical Prescribers (NMPs) to join our vibrant Lincolnshire Recovery Partnership in Boston and Grantham. Launching in April 2024, this partnership combines the strengths of Turning Point, Framework, and Double Impact to deliver exceptional substance use treatment and recovery services across Lincolnshire.

Our ‘Recovery First’ model is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that lived experience and recovery are fully integrated into our services. By joining us, you’ll be part of a highly localized approach that supports residents facing multiple challenges throughout Lincolnshire.

As a community-based NMP or Pharmacist Prescriber, you’ll empower individuals to transform their lives while receiving the support you need to thrive in a friendly, multidisciplinary team.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will:

• Conduct opiate substitute treatment (OST) interventions and manage benzodiazepine reductions.
• Administer detoxification medications and provide relapse prevention support.
• Perform health care assessments and Blood Borne Virus (BBV) screenings.
• Collaborate closely with mental health, physical health, and social care services.
• Participate in local prescriber meetings and receive one-on-one clinical supervision.
• Contribute to shaping service delivery and ensuring clinically excellent services.

You’ll have access to ongoing training and support from our Clinical Services Manager and Clinical Lead, ensuring your professional development is prioritized.

Are You the Ideal Candidate?

If you are a registered nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or a qualified Pharmacist with independent prescribing qualifications, we want to hear from you! You should:

• Be confident in managing prescribing for opiates and alcohol detoxifications.
• Possess excellent communication skills and be highly organized.
• Have the ability to create flexible, tailored support packages for clients.
• Be passionate about helping individuals from diverse backgrounds with empathy and understanding.
