Job Title: Warehouse / Stores Operative 

Salary:  £24,000 per annum

Location : Segensworth / Southampton

Working Hours:  37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 (1-hour lunch break)

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Warehouse/ Stores Operative to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth running of warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. You'll be responsible for inventory management, order fulfilment, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Accurately book goods into stock using inventory software
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment with a focus on quality and accuracy
  • Issue stock, tools, and materials to internal teams as required
  • Carry out routine stock checks and assist with periodic audits
  • Maintain accurate records of stock movement, returns, and damaged goods
  • Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety regulations
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet trucks, forklifts, and scanners
  • Support additional tasks including labelling, light assembly, and re-packaging
  • Liaise with internal departments and logistics providers to ensure timely dispatch of goods
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or logistics environment
  • Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and stock control procedures
  • Competent in using inventory systems and basic IT tools (Microsoft Office, scanners)
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling
  • Able to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team
  • Good communication skills and a proactive work ethic
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Valid Forklift Truck Licence but this isnt essential

About the role:

We are looking for a full time Stock Control Administrator to join our Workshop team – You will primarily be responsible for ensuring ensure consistency within the CORE area, all CORE is stored correctly and document all CORE within the WMS system. You will conduct quarterly stock checks and purchase ECU’s from CORE suppliers when required. You will also assist with daily H&S Checks as and when required.

Main responsibilities

  • Follow a lean Kanban system within the CORE area
  • Put all parts, consumables, and CORE away when it arrives
  • Use a replenishment pull calculation to implement Kanban on consumables/Parts for the workshop
  • Collect the core from each department and put it away daily
  • Keep workshop technicians and their customers up to date with parts orders and inform them of any delays
  • Update Kanban cards and parts spreadsheet
  • Perform stock checks on consumables
  • Chase up customer returns (10 days)
  • Perform the “Scrap unit” procedure
  • Perform the “Long stay” procedure
  • Track customers' exchange units using SOP
  • Follow all relevant SOPs (standard operating procedures)
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures
  • Perform stock checks in the core area using the WMS system
  • Perform stock checks on the “Not in the system” tub and update the relevant spreadsheets
  • Perform ABS stratification
  • Use the internal workflow management system to create “Wanted CORE lists”
  • Identify new suppliers for parts, consumables and CORE.
  • Keep a healthy business relationship with third-party suppliers
  • Update the supplier register for ISO9001 purposes
  • Order parts, consumables, and CORE from third-party companies
  • Update PO trackers
  • Any other tasks deemed reasonable by the employer (H&S safety checks)

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Stores Supervisor has the responsibility and accountability for managing all functions of stock control for Production, including the managing of parts being sent to and received from the anodising partner.

Stores Responsibilities:

  • Management of inventory to include receipt and issue of stock and non-stock items.

  • Collaboration & communication with the Assembly Manager to ensure assembly piece parts are ready in good time prior to the due date.
  • Identification, locating and reserving materials held on inventory for work scheduled or point of use and management of unused spares back onto stock.

Management of all inventories through an internal incorporated MRP system (KIPS), ensuring accurate data input together with responsibility for the integrity of all software systems.

  • Responsible for the management of the anodising system, which includes:
  • Preparation of all parts to be delivered for plating, on the anodising bench.
  • Ensures all paperwork is present and correct for all parts being sent to anodising.
  • Ensures the system is updated for all parts being sent to anodising and subsequently returned.

Management and adherence of control measures for hazardous substances in the workplace (COSHH)

  • Follow work procedures relating to hazardous substances in the workplace.
  • Wear provided personal protective equipment (PPE) in the correct manner
  • Ensuring strict adherence to all relevant Health and Safety procedures.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipates needed supplies; consults with the Production Manager in respect of placing or expediting orders for supply.
  • Documents actions as appropriate/completes all company paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Contributes to the team effort meeting all schedules and timelines demonstrates a strong team approach ensuring clear communication with colleagues at all levels.

To undertake continuous training and development as required.

Undertaking any other duties as may be required by the Management team.
