About the Role
It’s an exciting time to be joining the Trust’s Procurement team in this newly created role. We are modernising Procurement with the aim of providing a “best in class” function to act as an essential partner to our charity’s regional property-based teams and central departments in the run up to our Centenary. Procurement currently supports over £40m of annual spend and is involved in a huge variety of contracts for the Trust.
Responsibilities
- Implement strategic procurement across the Trust including developing category management plans, undertaking strategic sourcing, working collaboratively on tender processes and subsequent contract management of key suppliers.
- Provide Procurement support to internal stakeholders, including providing advice and guidance on sustainable procurement, procurement policy and processes.

Qualifications/Experience
In order to be successful, it is anticipated that you will be degree educated and ideally possess, or be working towards, full MCIPS accreditation coupled with demonstrable and relevant procurement experience.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable relevant experience in procurement in activities such as: tendering and contracting, stakeholder engagement, sustainable procurement initiatives, data analysis, procurement systems and contract management.
- Demonstrable track record of collaborative working.
- Experience in supporting non-procurement managers and staff to comply with procurement processes.
- Experience of identifying savings opportunities or process changes required and influencing stakeholders to participate in these.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge and experience of Power BI and Microsoft Dynamics would be particularly attractive.
- A clean driving licence as you will be expected to visit a number of properties and locations on a not infrequent basis.
- Charity/third sector experience is a “nice to have” but is by no means essential. Indeed, candidates from a construction/project-based environment in the private sector will be warmly welcomed.
Pay range and compensation package
As well as a competitive salary, the post is offered on a hybrid working basis (2 days being office-based), a generous pension contribution, 30 days annual leave plus additional leave over the Christmas break, and a full suite of other benefits.
