The role will require the successful candidate to embrace a data driven approach to procurement and will suit someone who is a results-orientated self-starter, with a strategic mindset to think outside the box and consider different sourcing strategies based on the needs of that spend area and the geographies in scope. The person will enjoy working in teams comprising people from different countries and diverse backgrounds.
**Key responsibilities of the role:**

+ Lead the delivery of approved strategic sourcing projects across multiple countries, management of the Rfx process (RFI/RFQ/RFP) and taking accountability to implement contracts that achieve cost savings and improve quality and service levels
+ Plan commercial outcomes at the onset of any sourcing project to secure value from the work delivered. This will includes identifying current baseline and forecast spend, devising an appropriate sourcing strategy that balances commercial leverage, time and effort, and having a clear understanding of targeted cost savings from price reductions and/or rebates, areas of cost avoidance, and efficiency gains from process improvements
+ Identify key stakeholders and develop strategic partnerships with key groups across AECOM's global business, establishing Strategic Sourcing as a trusted advisor.
+ Utilize procurement technology and data to improve efficiency across the sourcing process, ensuring quality of service to AECOM stakeholders
+ Support wider AECOM stakeholders with supplier relationship management for strategic suppliers, including the use of key performance indicators and escalation of performance issues where necessary, to maintain value post contract and help to realise forecast cost savings.
+ Where necessary as part of a strategic sourcing project, work with AECOM Source-to-Pay 'process owners' to consider end to end buy- channel processes with a view to improving efficiencies with our supplier base. E.g. considering purchase order compliance and adoption, workflow and approvals, and payment timescales.
+ Support the development and capability of the Global Procurement team by demonstrating high standard of delivery and sharing best practice.

Job Description
About the Organisation
These Strategic Sourcing Lead jobs in Edinburgh with the National Trust for Scotland offer an outstanding opportunity for three skilled procurement professionals to play a key and active part in the development of the procurement function for Scotland's largest charity. Since 1931, the Trust has pioneered public access to some of the most magnificent buildings, collections and landscapes in Scotland. We care for ancient houses, battlefields, castles, mills, gardens, coastlines, islands, and mountain ranges as well as the plants and animals which depend upon them. Last year, a record 5.6m people visited our properties, meaning our work is more important than ever to ensure Scotland’s heritage is preserved for future generations.
About the Roles
It’s an exciting time to be joining the Trust’s Procurement team in these newly created roles. We are modernising Procurement with the aim of providing a “best in class” function to act as an essential partner to our charity’s regional property-based teams and central departments in the run up to our Centenary. Procurement currently supports over £40m of annual spend and is involved in a huge variety of contracts for the Trust.
Responsibilities
- Implement strategic procurement across the Trust including developing category management plans, undertaking strategic sourcing, working collaboratively on tender processes and subsequent contract management of key suppliers.
- Provide Procurement support to internal stakeholders, including providing advice and guidance on sustainable procurement, procurement policy and processes.
- Develop strong collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate information gathering on upcoming projects to enable engagement and better workload planning, together with the identification of savings opportunities plus other opportunities for efficiency and business improvement.
- Develop strong collaborative working relationships with key suppliers to ensure business critical contracts are delivered as expected, with ongoing improvements in value and sustainability over the period of the contract.
- Undertake a portfolio of tenders over £50,000 and ongoing contract management of strategic suppliers.
- Support the Head of Procurement with various Trust-wide projects including implementation of the Sustainable Procurement Policy and procurement procedures, supplier rationalisation, achieving savings targets and ultimately reducing the Trust's Scope 3 carbon emissions.
Qualifications
In order to be successful, it is anticipated that you will be degree educated and ideally possess, or be working towards, full MCIPS accreditation coupled with demonstrable and relevant procurement experience.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable relevant experience in procurement in activities such as: tendering and contracting, stakeholder engagement, sustainable procurement initiatives, data analysis, procurement systems and contract management.
- Demonstrable track record of collaborative working.
- Experience in supporting non-procurement managers and staff to comply with procurement processes.
- Experience of identifying savings opportunities or process changes required and influencing stakeholders to participate in these.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge and experience of Power BI and Microsoft Dynamics would be particularly attractive.
- A clean driving licence as you will be expected to visit a number of properties and locations on a not infrequent basis.
- Charity/third sector experience is a “nice to have” but is by no means essential. Indeed, candidates from a construction/project-based environment in the private sector will be warmly welcomed.
Pay range and compensation package
As well as a competitive salary, the post is offered on a hybrid working basis (2 days being office-based), a generous pension contribution, 30 days annual leave plus additional leave over the Christmas break, and a full suite of other benefits.
Equal Opportunity Statement
We are an equal opportunities employer, and we welcome applications from everyone regardless of race, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs.
