Solution Architect

Introduction to team

Private Label Solutions (PLS) is the B2B arm of Expedia Group. We open up our supply and innovative technology to businesses looking to take on the world of travel. These businesses, sometimes referred to as our ‘demand partners’, include global financial institutions (e.g. AMEX), corporate managed travel, offline travel agents (e.g. Flight Centre), global travel suppliers (e.g. Delta) and many more .

We’re looking for a Solutions Architect to help shape and evolve our technology landscape by applying modern architectural principles across systems and platforms. This is a key technical leadership role, focused on designing scalable solutions, improving system performance, and driving architectural consistency across teams. You’ll work closely with engineering and business stakeholders to ensure our technology solutions are both strategically sound and execution-ready.

In this role, you will

  • Lead the design and improvement of complex, scalable systems across cloud-based and hybrid environments

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into functional and technical architecture

  • Provide architectural oversight for key projects, ensuring alignment with technical standards and long-term strategy

  • Monitor industry and technology trends to identify relevant opportunities for innovation and efficiency

  • Contribute to technology roadmaps, standards, and shared architectural patterns

  • Support teams with root cause analysis, system optimization, and secure systems design

  • Facilitate technical decision-making and guide teams through trade-off discussions

Experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience (or equivalent professional background)

  • Proficiency in at least three programming languages and strong knowledge of software architecture patterns

  • Experience maintaining and supporting systems in production, especially in public or hybrid cloud environments

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, monitor, and enhance large-scale systems

  • Strong understanding of cloud architectures, service-oriented design, ETL frameworks, and security principles

  • Capable of designing moderately complex systems and choosing appropriate technologies based on use cases

  • Familiarity with compliance requirements and secure software design

  • Effective communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Experience developing technology strategies, roadmaps, and contributing to long-term architectural vision

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to lead and develop the company's strategy team, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery of insight-driven strategic and tactical plans.



Responsibilities

  • To lead and oversee the development of robust, insight-driven (digital and creative) strategic solutions that address brand and customer challenges.
  • To drive organic growth and new business opportunities in the strategic offering of the agency.
  • To provide strategic direction to clients and colleagues .


Key tasks

  • Implement the development of communications strategy and integrated digital campaign planning.
  • Mapping of the customer experience, identifying key challenges and opportunities.
  • Identify strategic growth opportunities and develop new methodologies and offerings for clients.


The company offers a very competitive salary and benefits package, along with hybrid working from a central london office. You must be able to go into their central London office at least one day per week.


At least 10 years experience in a similar role is a healthcare communications role is key.
