Due to continued growth and success, we are now hiring for a permanent Stress Analysis Engineer to join our team of analysis engineers onsite at our cutting edge manufacturing site in Brockworth, Gloucestershire. You will play a role in the design, analysis and optimization of propeller components and sub-systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, reliability and safety. The role is broad in scope covering everything from product evolution and design activities for future programs, analysis tools development, supporting sustaining programs and concessions.
To qualify for this opportunity you will have experience in analysis using hand calculations and FE modelling. Together with knowledge of composite analysis, rotating assemblies or previous propeller analysis experience would be a distinct advantage.
**Job Description**
**Role and Responsibilities**
+ Perform stress analysis (hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis) with a variety of proprietary and commercial tools.
+ Work towards stress approval status for OE and repair concessions.
+ Support the design process of propeller systems (including composite and metallic structures), test rigs and tooling.
+ Support analysis tools development, technical instructions and the generation of stress methods.
+ Create technical documentation of analysed components.
+ Effectively communicate projects status, issues and developments.
+ Work within defined parameters to make decisions to solve engineering problems, applying solid engineering principles and judgment to find feasible solutions.
+ Lead the execution of assigned project tasks.
**Essential Requirements**
+ Degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
+ Experience within the aerospace industry and able to demonstrate knowledge and hands on capability of both classical hand calculations and finite element methods. Demonstrated experience with commercial analysis packages required (Ansys Classic/Workbench, Creo, Hypermesh, etc.).
+ Knowledge of manufacturing processes and of the methods used for repairs to metallic and composite components.
+ Excellent communication skills, with strong report writing and presentation skills, can communicate across all levels from shop floor to customers and up to Board level.
+ A logical problem solver who can operate effectively under project constraints.
+ Target oriented, responsible, passion to learn, open mind with strong motivation.
**Desired Characteristics**
+ A concessions Stress Signatory within an Aerospace Design Organization responsible for the approval of composite and/or metallic concessions.
+ Experience in structural dynamics and modal analysis.
+ Tools development and coding using Matlab, Python, Fortran etc.
+ Knowledge of propeller theory.
+ Knowledge of propeller certification and airworthiness requirements.
