We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Welfare Officer to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in helping students navigate their university experience and access the support they need to thrive. This is a temporary position for three months, with the possibility of going permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct face-to-face and online sessions with students and staff, providing tailored support and advice.
- Guide students through the range of support services available, helping them understand how each one can benefit them.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case notes to ensure proper follow-up and support.
- Create informative booklets and resources on well-being and support services to keep our community informed.
- Be a friendly point of contact for students and their families, offering guidance on available services.
- Communicate effectively through various media channels to reach our diverse student body.
- Produce and distribute newsletters that keep everyone up to date with welfare initiatives.
- Participate in in-service training and team meetings to continuously improve our services.
- Collaborate with fellow welfare team members to create a seamless support experience.
- Work closely with the wider Student Support Services team to provide an integrated service.
- Attend relevant working and advisory groups to contribute your insights and expertise.
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure effective referral processes for students in need.
- Promote Student Support Services activities by engaging with professional bodies and external agencies.
